Must Wait was a good read. It centers around Pedro, who is a single father because his wife died in childbirth, just as his mother died giving birth to him. This gives Pedro the feeling that his life is cursed. That being said he does not even think about ever having another wife to love let alone another girlfriend or child! This is one of the reasons why he is so terribly naive in the ways of sex, and is extremely inhibited.
Pedro has a lot of support from the little community he lives in, from his brothers to everyone who lives there, and the workers in the fields. Rosie who runs the bar in town also acts like his mother and his best friend Parker, who gives him a lot of support.
One day the school gets a new teacher, Olivia; this is how Pedro meets Katie her wild twenty-one year old daughter. Katie attends college and lives with her lesbian roommate, who come to visit her mom .After she meets and falls in lust and eventually love with Pedro, she proceeds to completely change his life. They fool around a little but he will not take Katie's virginity unless they are married.
Pedro and Katie finally marry and the night they are married they go back to the hotel, and they consummate the marriage. They proceed to move to a condo near Katie's college, and one night they go to have sex and Katie brings out the condoms, Pedro asks her why they are using condoms and she proceeds to tell him she quit taking birth control. Pedro is so mad and upset he takes his son and goes home to Costa Rica.
After a series of terrible life altering events, Katie comes back to Costa Rica and she is pregnant with twins. Pedro is scared to death but he steps up to the plate and cares for her. Katie opts for a c-section and Pedro, although terrified is there for her. They have twin sons!They proceed to have more children and Pedro feels the curse is finally broken.
There is a lot of angst between quite a few of the characters, such as Katie's mom who is very wild and her father who is very dominant and submissive in turn. This helps to explain why certain things happen in the book. This book was touching, and in turn filled with alot of angst, but very enjoyable. I gave this book 4 stars.

I have to say that at first I was a wondering a little at this story. I was sure it was going to break my heart. Pedro has been a single parent since his wife died in childbirth. He believes he is cursed. He has only had sex a few times. These are the short facts. Then he meets Katie. She is beautiful, smart, and a virgin. She is also more experienced in sex than Pedro. This book will have you laughing, squirming, and wanting to shake some sense into people. Star-crossed lovers would be an accurate description of these love birds. He is a simple farm boy from Costa Rica. She is an outgoing bisexual party girl from America. What could possibly go wrong?

Once I really got going on this story, I could not put it down. When I had to drive, I just plugged in the headphones and switched over to the text-to-talk option. I did not want to miss a moment. This was a delightful story of a sophisticated girl with a somewhat backward love interest. I kept a smile on my face for most of the story. I hope that all that read it find it as enjoyable as I did.

This book definitely gets a 4 star rating from me. Even though I knew people that had already read it, I did not want details so that I could experience it myself. I cannot wait to read more of this authors work.
