Teenagers Saxton Lyall and Licah Daciana are tossed into a web of nightmaric proportions when a simple glance across a coffee shop turns their world upside down. When the mark of an ancient curse burns into their skin, Licah's superstitious Romanian mother ships her off to Virginia without an explanation. Now, it's nineteen years later and Licah has returned to Parker's Ridge for a little rest and relaxation to help cure her writer's block. Little does she know that Saxton is near and things are about to get horrifically interesting. Two People. One Curse. But this time, no one is running. This novel is the first of The Fear Series by L R Barrett-Durham and E G Glover.

Marvelous Romance Novel with a paranormal twist. All I can say is WOW! I read this book in less than a day, 350 pages, but I just had a hard time putting it down! The stage was set right from the beginning and I was hooked. The story had historical romance, young adult romance, and then finally romance all the while a paranormal plot was growing. And now a bit about the story ...
A curse is born in 1700s Romania when her true love leaves her to marry another. In the 1990s we first meet our hero and heroine (Saxton and Licah), high school students at the time and soul mates. Yet when they come into contact for the first time the curse is triggered. When Licah's mother figures out what is going on she moves her and her daughter away from the small Tennessee town. Years later (present day) Licah has become a best selling author, but has writer's block. She decided to vacation in the small Tennessee town. She had never found out why her and her mother had moved so quickly or what the scar she now bore on her chest meant. However, she was about to find out. Saxton had never left and was now the park ranger where she was renting a cabin. Join Saxton and Licah as they figure out this curse and see if true love can break yet another curse!
Favorite passages: - Saxton yelled into his cell phone. His voice being louder than he had heard it in years, "I don't have time to listen to your jealous gobble-de-gook! Now connect be to the the damn cabin!" - "I wonder if you're going to be this jealous once the wolf is gone," she asked with a smirk. - Saxton looked to Licah with a grin. "Jealous?" he asked. Licah hit him with her shoulder bag and grinned. "Have no fear, my love. I feel only protective of Lila and Anca."
Did you ever brush by someone and get the sense that all was not as it should be? Well get ready for an answer you may not want to hear! After briefly meeting as teens, Licah and Saxton find themselves thrown together years later in a heat-inducing nightmare. Ages old magic is at work even as tensions and passions flare. Add in a quirky bookstore owner with his own secrets and it becomes a whirlwind ride all the way to the finish. Be Warned... the sex scene is on fire.
"Fear The Beast Within" is Book One: The Fear Series
I was given a copy of this book for an honest review through Wicked Reads
Excellent story about a Romanian curse that has been passed from generation to generation. Lovers who have never met and the true connection of soul-mates reconnecting are the center point of this story. The story was very unique and I enjoyed the plot.
I highly recommend it for anyone that is looking for a new take on the werewolf story.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book and a completely different take on the 'werewolf curse'. It was an enticing, yet easy read, in which I struggled to put down. Cant wait for book two in the Fear Series. :-)
Not my typical book choice (I am not a fan of werewolves books usually) but the story grabbed me and the characters interested me. My one complaint was it seemed a bit short for the story that it told and I found that the story had barely had time to start before the conclusion was upon me.
I was gifted this book in exchange for a review, and what a surprise! I was on a break from paranormal books and this has reawakened my love for them! Twists, turns, surprises....this book has it all! I think I but a thumbnail down while reading it! Very impressive and a must read!
