By page ten, common sense is tapping me on the shoulder to remind me that I'm ignoring her (because I haven't yet thrown the book into the middle of the lion's den at the local zoo).
By page thirty two, the voices in my head are screaming. *Lion's den, lion's den, lion's den...*
By page sixty, my brain is trying to spontaneously combust just so I will finally stop reading.
But I can't. I keep thinking that the book will get better. Ha! Me and my hopelessly optimistic attitude. This book pretty much encourages theft, larceny, deceit, spite and general all-around bitchiness. Yes, of course, it has a happy ending; but throughout the book I found myself wondering why I would want to read a "fluff" book that made me feel like crap? Or like kicking the crap out of the protagonist? Or both? The premise is that Savannah is left at the altar; devastated, she decides to change, blah, blah, blah, happy ever after. However, she really pissed me off throughout most of the book. Isn't chick lit supposed to give you that warm fuzzy feeling inside while your reading it and you end by squinting through the tears? If you want that, don't expect to get it here.
