Roger Hargreaves was a British cartoonist, illustrator and writer of children's books. He created the Mr. Men series, Little Miss series and Timbuctoo series, intended for young readers. The simple and humorous stories, with bold, brightly coloured illustrations, have sales of more than 85 million copies worldwide in 20 languages.
Another Little Miss book brings fun for the kids. Little Miss Tiny is very small and the rest of the world seems very big. Luckily she has some big friends like Mr. Strong and Mr. Funny and she meets Mr. Small who is just her size. More great wallpaper in these.
The art is fun, the story is entertaining and Roger Hargreaves gave the world this whimsical world.
My nephew gave it 5 stars. He enjoyed seeing Mr. Funny show up.
Christmas present from my boyfriend cuz im apparently little miss tiny haha, cute little story just shame she only goes out once a week to see her friends.
Ah, Mr Men and Little Miss, how wonderful you are!
These books made up so much of my childhood. No matter what I would go ahead and pick one up. I worked my way through them all a couple of times. Each one has a wonderful story for the child to engage with, each character being fun to read.
Everyone has a bias for their favourite character, yet every book is delightful.
She was so tiny that the people couldn't see her. And this cat went near her and she thought the cat would get her and she lived in a mouse hole. But she was different from the others. Nobody noticed her and she was pink. She had a blue bow on. She was a girl. She met a Mr and he was red. When little miss tiny came out of her mouse hole at the barn he picked her up (Mr. Strong) and Mr. Strong took little miss tiny over to meet some friends. She never had any friends so that's why Mr. Strong took little miss tiny there. Tiny met Mr. Tickle. When she met Mr Tickle she laughed a lot cause he tickled her but 1st she met Mr Funny. First he picked little miss tiny up but Mr. Funny made tiny laugh so much that she couldn't stop laughing. She met a pig that was so much bigger than her. She stared at the pig because she went exploring. She ran out of the barn when she met the pig. The pig was pink. She did not know the colour pink. Once she came out of her mouse hole she wanted to go exploring. She thought she would meet some horses. She was shy. she was super tiny. Tinier than a cat. she was tinier than anything, even people. Mr Happy was very happy at her. She was smiling too. At the end little miss tiny - she did not know she would meet another person that was as small as her - they met and they became friends. With Mr. Small.
I absolutely loved these Mr Men and Little Miss books. I remember getting them from my granny every week. There was so much from these simple characters, I remember filling my little bookshelf with all these books making sure I had got them all in right order. I wish I still had these books but somehow most of them got lost with many house moves or my mum gave the rest away. If I ever have kids, I will make sure they get the chance to experience these wonderful, colourful books.
I read this to my best friend's older daughter who is 4.
I enjoyed this adventure about Little Miss Tiny being lonely and no one knowing she exists and how she was brave enough to step outside. It is useful to teach children about small and large as well as loneliness and the importance of having friends.
Talk about an emotional rollercoaster! Starting out with sad and lonely protagonist never ends well....but one with serious height deficiencies? Nightmare. Rooting for her every step of the way, this masterpiece of literature reminds us being the size of a doormouse is no barrier to happiness. A piece for the ages, and a reminder that cats are evil. Short but sweet.
This was interesting, as it sorta had the message that don’t let some aspect of yourself be the reason that you don’t interact with others. That is a good message for anyone, but I found it especially poignant for me where I am in the world. It reached deep into my guts and said “hey, if this tiny girl can go be sociable, you can as well.” Yes, a child’s book made me recognize this. This means it could probably teach a child some of these same things. It could teach them to not look at their smallness as an excuse not to live their lives. This is probably one of the most important messages I can think to share with a child, especially in this fast-paced world. Even though she has some slight hiccups going into the world, it shows that when we rely on others we can go really far, meet new people, and simply live a wonderful life. I enjoyed this one and originally started to give it 3 magical balls, but I upped it to 4 because this is a more accurate representation of how I feel about it personally and what I think about it in the overall series. I definitely think this is a book you should read to your kids. It will provide a good chance to have some meaningful conversations about being king, helping others, and not giving up.
I used to read these series all the time when I was little. It felt nice to revisit my childhood. In this book, Little Miss Tiny is so small that no one notices her, and she is very lonely. She goes out into the world to explore and is faced with a lot of big, scary things, but Mr. Strong saves her. He introduces her to a lot of friends. Little Miss Tiny even meets a special friend-Mr. Small! I think this sends an important message to children. Even if they feel so tiny in a big, scary world, the world is not so scary when you learn to embrace it. When you find friends, who will be there to help you along your journey, the world and all it has to offer is obtainable. I also love the simplicity of the illustrations and the rainbow assortment of colors it provides! Great book!
I couldn't help but compare this little miss to another well beloved children's classic 'The Borrowers' as Little Miss Tiny lives in a mouse hole in the dining room of a farmhouse - where no-one knowing she lives there.
Seeking companions and adventure almost leds her into serious trouble but is soon helped out by Mr. Strong.
One of the main themes running through these books is that when one of the characters needs some help or support, other popular characters soon rally round to aid them.
There's some great cameos and a satisfying ending as a group of Mr. Men help give Miss Tiny some much needed company.
Can we give props to Mr Strong for not only going out of his way to help a person in need but also helping Little Miss Tiny to meet all sorts of people, not just Mr Small?
Review of the smallest member of the household: "I preferred the ending. When she grows up she will be big enough to wear a hat."

Yes, it was all very exciting for little miss tiny. She tried to put herself out there because she’s a little lonely. So she went on an adventure. This is a charming little story that will put a little smile on your little ones I hope.
