Author James Henry Kimmel Sangster was born on Dec. 2, 1927, in North Wales. He startied working in films at the age of 16, worked his way up from gopher to screenwriter, then he even directed a number of movies. He was 83 when he passed away.

After his stint in working for the movie industry he worked in television and wrote a few books. “Touchfeather Two” (1970) was his fourth published work and the sequel to “Touchfeather”. Truth be told I got a kick out of the British hardcover’s dust jacket with the photo of glamour actress Julie Ege on the cover. However I was unable to track one down at a reasonable price. Julie had a role in 1969's “On Her Majesty's Secret Service” as Helen, the "Scandinavian girl". It’s worth checking out her IMDB page, if only to get a better idea of Mr. Sangster’s and the publishers idea of who Katy Touchfeather is.

In this installment of the two book series, we find Katy on a mission to discover where unauthorized gold is coming from which is currently flooding the world markets. It’s not long before she is romping with a world famous bull fighter, flying from Mexico to Madrid in her more empowered and self-assured position as a ‘secret agent’.

When things go wrong, she is recalled to London, her home base and recoups. However, it’s not long till she is off again, this time to the Middle East and to a small country in Africa. To heighten the tension she is kidnapped and must hijack a jet in midflight.

I enjoyed this installment less than Katy’s initial outing due to the feeling that the production was rather formulaic. However, one must keep in mind this is written in the late sixties and a bit of suspension of reality is required. I enjoyed this fast moving story even if the main character isn’t quite believable.

Katy Touchfeather is back in action. Based in London, she works for a man named Blaser. Fluent uages, passage in a few more, her cover job is as an airline stewardess. That had been her job before she was recruited as part of an investigation in her husband's death. Ruled accidental, it had in fact been murder and Katy had helped bring down the killers.

Trained as an agent, she can kill with just her hands in six different methods. But mosy often she uses her feminine side to complete her assignments.

This time around, she's on the trail of illegal gold. Gold in the world is heavily monitored as to much can bring the price down. Someone is getting gold from unknown mines and introducing it in market.

A handsome young bullfighter smuggling some in is one target. Another is a rich Greek named Constantin Galipolodopolo that may be the head man.

Katy survives murder attempts, several kidnappings, and her irascible boss as she investigates.

Katy Touchfeather is hard, tough, and a killing machine. In this adventure she seduces a number of interesting men to get information on a gold smuggling racket. She finds her way into so many perilous positions the reader can scarcely breath. She would certainly give 007 a run for his money. Once again Brash Books has republished a winner.
