John Trout has what I would consider a newer version of this book called "Finding Wounded Deer" which I would say is more updated and comprehensive - however this older version of the book is excellent. If you hunt deer, it is your ethical responsibility to recover anything you take a shot at, and this book gives amazing insight into the various wounds you may create and the way to track your deer that will give you the best chance to find it - including how long to wait and what sign to look for. This or the follow up book should be required reading for any hunter's safety course.
