Selwyn Hughes was a Welsh Christian minister best known for writing the daily devotional Every Day with Jesus. He founded the Christian ministry CWR and wrote over fifty Christian books. George Carey, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, described Hughes as a "giant in the faith".
The book started well but I’m left confused as to who it’s aimed at. Imagine a book about how to do surgery for ‘lay surgeons’ who may use some of the skills without being properly trained.
Some of the earlier chapters have some helpful points but after the first 40 pages I couldn’t help thinking this could be dangerous as a) some of the techniques should only be used by qualified counsellors and b) Having read the book, some people may mistakenly feel qualified.
The book means well but, as well as feeling very dated, I think it’d be best to leave be.
