Fascinating read. This book covered all the main topics: early exploration, science, wildlife (especially whales, seals, albatross, petrels), human impact and lots of photographs of icebergs and ice cliffs. Each photo came with some interesting trivia such as the numerous types of ice features and underlying geological feautures.

This book is dated now however many of the key points are still relevant today.

I would recommend this to anyone who likes polar photography and/or an interest in the white continent.
