With a determination and mindset that only she can help the demon Telal Demuzi—she sets off to join him in his cause for demon's rights, whether he wants it or not. But things don’t seem to go right from the beginning. To say he’s resistant to her charms is putting it lightly, but Lily is not one to back down or give in easily. She pursues Telal, slowly breaking down his incredible defenses one smile, kiss, and touch at a time.

Telal’s years of planning are finally coming to fruition—to open the rift. Once a betrayer of his people, now he’s determined to fix the past. But one man stands in his way; one man who’s turned out to be a dark and sinister version of the boy he once knew. His plan to open the rift is met with hostility, resistance, and bloodshed unlike he’d ever thought possible. Telal finds that losing himself in the sweet body of Lily Bellum proves an excellent treatment to the chaos around him. Together, Telal and Lily get wrapped up in a world of dark magic, love, betrayal, and murder in the greatest journey of their lives.

Demon Lord Telal
telal

Telal's oldest friend has died and left each of his three daughters to some very powerful men. Telal is not amused. He is Pissed!!

Telal is not just the most powerful demon on earth. He was the only demon left on earth after the rift was closed at the end of The Great War. Telal has been working hard for hundreds of years to open the rift and it is about to happen. He does not have time to babysit a spoiled, immature, foolish Succubus.

Lily Bellum
Lily

Lily is depressed. Her papa is dead, both of her older sisters are in love and happily mated to their Protectors. Lily has been trying to flirt and woo Telal, but he is just so mean and aloof. What's a girl gotta do to make him see that he needs her just as much as she needs him.

passion

This was a wonderful story. Lily had far more depth to her character than I had expected. I enjoyed watching her seduce Telal, and watching his resolve crumble. The loves scenes were full of passion. Their was lots of fighting and action as we finally got a bloody battle in the Demon Realm.

Lily and Telal may be my favorite couple so far. This series has been Amazing!!! I love the continuation of the characters from one book into the next. It felt like I got a sort of epilogue of Chloe and Willow's lives as they made cameos. There was also a second love story in this book (I'm a sucker for multiple love stories in one book). This book was a great intro to the final book, The Fallen King. I can't start that book soon enough!!!

"I deem that on the day of your 29th birthday in the year of 2012, that you will be put into the Protection of the demon Telal Demuzi; to be protected by, to facilitate a relationship with, and to mate and breed with."

After the death of their father, Chloe, Willow and Lily all receive his final gift; the names of their Protectors, the succubus’ chosen male, who would care for their every need. On the 29th birthday of a Succubus, they reach their sexual maturity and trade food & water for sexual acts, making it the only way to survive and as a Protector; they are bound to feed the need of their Succubus.

Only the three sisters were raised to be independent women, completely outside the normal Succubus standards and don’t react well to the news of having to turn to a man whom they never met for something so intimate. In order to put off the claiming, they conjured up a spell to keep their Protectors from ever finding them, but what they didn’t know was that the sacred grounds they were on and the ancient language they chanted was actually a spell to release a powerful Demon Karr from the rift below.
_______________________________________

Ties That Bind is Lily’s book, she is the youngest sister, the creator of the spell and the last to speak the spell. Luckily there is no Demon after her, this time she is after her own Demon, her Protector and he wants nothing to do with her. Lily is too wild, crazy and free and in his opinion completely foolish, since her and her sisters were the cause of the Demons rising in the first place. Lily dabbles in a little magic and has visions to foresee what might happen in the future; with a 50/50 chance her visions will come true.
“Are you really his woman?”

She winked at the guard. “Oh yeah. He's all mine.”

The guard arched a disbelieving eyebrow. “Then why has he ordered us to keep you out?”

“Oh, he's just playing hard to get, that's all.”

Telal cannot believe he is saddled with the responsibility of being her Protector, he knows he owes her father a great deal but clearly there is not a far less suited mate for him than she is. Telal has bigger fish to fry, he is finally ready to propose that the rift be open for the top level Demons to travel between Earth and below, while keeping the lower two levels of the rift locked in. But Lily is not one he can easily push aside, she wants to help him and with each disapproving glance she comes back with a smile to knock him off his feet. She buys him thoughtful gifts and writes him letters sharing her dreams and visions. It was something to look forward to in his boring life that he dedicated to his cause, not that he would ever admit that to her though.
“I saw you with your free smiles, bubbly laughter and it felt good having it aimed at me. You looked at me not like I was a demon, but a man you could want. I liked that. I liked that a lot.”

Lily had a vision, that she would die at the hands of a dark man on a dark thrown, she has not clue what or who is in her vision, but she knows something bad is coming. After a thousand years, Telal has to return to the rift, to get the Demon King to agree to the plans he has to open the rift, it is a journey he is not looking forward too, but it must be done. Lily knows that Telal will need her, and even though he left her behind on his trip doesn’t mean she can’t find her own way in. But Telal and Lily are nowhere near prepared for what they come face-to-face with when they arrive.
Like snow melting in the sun, the cold chill of fear melted away bit by bit in his arms. He'd keep her safe ; he'd protect her.

___________________________________________

Ties That Bind is the third book in the series, and the one I was most looking forward too. Lily was a fun loving crazy heroine, who had no care in the world, even when things weren’t looking so hot for her sisters she still managed to tease and keep her playful attitude, which totally pissed Telal off even more and in turn made it all the more entertaining for me. Telal was a serious suit wearing businessman, who needed her ray of sunlight in his dark world, but even he had his own little kinks underneath the suit ;) Telal understood the real Lily and made her realize that it was okay to feel sorrow, anger and fear, because no matter what he will always be there for her in the end.

In this we visit back with Chloe & Tyrian and Willow & Lyonis, we also have two smaller stories intertwined told in a much smaller scale; the first about Alrik and Arianna the Demon King and a Lady of the Castle.
“what happens when I begin to care for a monster?”

and the second story is about Kearnyn and Rosa, the vampire bodyguard of Telal and the powerful white witch.
“She looked like a Mayan goddess and he looked like a steroid-junkie meat head.”

Their stories didn’t take away from Lily and Telal’s story, it only added to the overall series, understanding more about their world and their kind. Their stories were far less complicated but no less exciting.

The Sisters of Bellum is a perfect read for anyone who loves a good paranormal book, with Vampires, Shape-shifters, Demons, Succubus’ and Witches, it had a little bit of everything. I am writing this review, after I completed the entire series; I couldn’t or rather didn’t want to stop reading. The author takes the time to explain her world and allow you to live in it, making you believe that in a world like today they are all living amongst us.

*Thanks Sammy :)*

Because a constant stream of steamy sex scenes does not work in place of an actual plot. Not sure why I thought this one would be better than the first. Maybe because I thought I liked Lily, but this book just had to struggling hard because I just found her to be so annoying. Much like with Chloe I found myself asking, how in the world is this woman 28/29 years old? She is often shown having maturity level of a girl going through puberty.

I simply cannot to do this right now.

"You're Beautiful and a hell of a lay."

Thank goodness this one wasn't all about the sex and actually had a plot! Love Lily and Talel, they are super cute together. Talel has such a way with words that it made the book that much better.

Though the blurb about the book makes it seem like Lily is hiding some big secret(s) and they are never revealed to be anything major. So much for the intrigue in that aspect.

Again there was a 3 way story line going on, it was written in a sequence so you knew who the next chapter was going to be about. Making the book slightly predictable. Also, after this one I have no interest whatsoever in reading the 4th book.

One thing that bugged me about this one was that when they went to the rife for the final battle none of the men talk about what would happen if they died. What were they going to do? Let the Bellum sisters waste away without finding another protector? You'd think they have found a proxy or something before they left.

Last this. The rules on sex changed again in this one! I'm thinking all the sisters just had no notion on what needed to be done in order to be fed. But the last book apparently they couldn't orgasm before their 29th birthday yet Lily is able to.

I am always pleasantly surprised when I like sequels and trilogies! It's so easy to fall into a rut with a storyline, or with characters. T.A. Grey tackled this with ease!!!

Lily is by far my favorite Bellum sister, and not at all what I had expected. I think from reading the first two, I expected a young (I don't think my mind registered that she was only 10 months younger than her twin sisters)almost naive-ish girl who was shy yet had a good personality. I happily learned that she is bubbly and a free-spirit. Even with her addiction to her juice to keep the dreams away and make life all better, I ADORED this girl. I wanted her to be my friend, and go hang out and talk about boys and shop!

Grey did a good job of writing Telal. I kept forgetting he was even a Demon! There's something about an alpha man playing hard-to-get that is such a hook! You want to hook him, keep him, and make him yours. I know I want to!

I will admit that the cover of Ties that Bind did not move me and my cover snobbery like the other two. Perhaps I thought it was a bit too dark -- though in retrospect COMPLETELY fits with the story line; It makes it almost as if a black cloud hovers over the two...which is accurate. So it's a GREAT cover for the story, but not my favorite cover!

I have not purchased #4, to read Alrik's story. I am almost afraid to ruin the greatness of the past 3, and I fear the clip from #4 made the story-line of the next possibly predictable. I hope I am proven wrong! I just haven't gotten the courage to buy it yet!

GREAT read from T.A. Grey! PURCHASE NOWWWW -- You won't regret it!

I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! I KNEW these two would be my favorites! Telal is the classic slightly too stuffy for his own good suit wearer, and Lily is all smiles, giggles, good times, and fun! I loved how Lily clawed her way past Telal's resistance, and how despite thinking that she was THE WORST possible thing for him, he fell for her all the same. The new dynamic of, not threatening super demons, but of an entire kingdom of not so evil demons ready to wage war was a great angle. I don't know if I would have been able to handle a weird plot stretch of ANOTHER crazy huge big bad demon having some obscure connection to the first two, Grey did a wonderful job of finding another route to take! Thank God!

Among the other featured couples: Rosa and Kearnyn's story was sweet...kind of...I did keep hoping that we'd see more of Draven and Lucinda though :( they were so cute. And finally Alrik and Arianna....le sigh, that's right. I said 'le sigh'. There's just no other way to put it without totally ruining a great bittersweet ending. I've always hated books that had that kind of ending. "Everything is perfect! Well except for this one little thing..." HATED those endings, this, I loved. It was done in such a great way that it makes it completely understandable. I've got my copy of 'The Fallen King' sitting and ready, and after reading these I can't wait to dig into it!

Took the third book to be a winner

After reading the first two books in this series I wasn't blown away. Admittedly the first book to a new series isn't always the best one but I just didn't see it getting better but the second one was and this installment was really great.

This story was such a great read and had a good flow, good writing, great characters and waves of romance, adventure, angst and many swoon-worthy moments. This one I would read again. The main characters are interesting and very likable and their relationship growth was very believable compared to the previous two installments. The author did a great job with this book and I'm happy to say I'm excited to read the fourth book in this series. I hope she continues the series.

The only thing I feel that's lacking is the world building. After reading series like "Immortals After Dark", "Guild Hunter", and Kim Harrison's "The Hollows" I've come to expect rich world building, but this series is entertaining enough to invest my free time reading it.

This series had its ups and down, but somehow I couldn't put it down and ended up buying the whole series after the first book. I highly recommend this series for those seeking PNR that lean more toward the erotica side. I was at first a bit annoyed by all the "love scenes" but seeing that it captured secondary characters encounter I accepted it. Story line had great build up and each character portrayed different personality allowing you root and cheer for your favorites. Of the 3 book in this series I enjoyed this one most because through out the series Lilly and Telal were my favorites. Being able to read how Lilly slowly win her way into Telal's heart was heartwarming. I laughed, I cried and I cheered through out this book, in the end I am eager to read more. So of I go to purchase The Fallen King.

Love the Bellum sisters and basically all the characters in this series! I think this was my favorite book of the 3.

Once I started reading this, I could not put it down! I also loved how it ended and I am looking forward to future books with the Bellum sisters and characters popping in. :)

T.A. Grey has a way of making the story and characters come alive. I find myself rooting for them, crying with them and basically not wanting the book to end. Not only with this series, but with the Kategan's as well.

I find her series a great read and they do not disappoint!

Again, this series is indeed enthralling and filled with well-rounded characters. Not only that, but the characters evolve at a realistic pace giving the reader time to truly appreciate them. My only negative observation is the editing. It's a shame that in a story so fast-paced we are slowed down by the omission of a letter/word or from misspelled words or grammartical errors. That being said, the story in itself is pretty dang awesome.

I absolutely loved the conclusion(?) to this series. Lily and Telal inter-workings through out the series made me laugh and his corky comebacks had me smiling. The sub stories of Rosa and Kearnryn, and Ari and Alrik were great and brought another demenation to the story. Can't wait to read it again... and possibly a spin off series?

I have read all three books in the Bellum Series. This last book was my favorite. I absolutely love the characters Lily and Telal. I think Lily Bellum is just the right amount of crazy fun Telal Dumuzi needs in his life. From their first meeting, Lily decided he was the one for her and never stopped going after him for a second. I would recommend this book and series to anyone.

I think it was more like 4.5. It really seemed like the books before were leading up to this one. I loved the first one, mostly the characters. The second I didn't like as much but I liked how the story got more comples but then when I read this one . . . wow. I loved all the characters and the writing was phenomenal! I didn't enjoy the end as much as the others so that's why it's prob a 4.5.

"Ties that Bind" is the story of Telal and Lily..amongst others.
We know Lily is the youngest of the succubi Bellum sisters, who is promised to Telal the demon. While he is reluctant to accepting their relationship, she's all for it. Just before her 29th birthday, she goes to him, knowing that an evil is on the way.
We have sub stories of Rosa, the healer and witch with Kearnyn, Telal's advisor as well as Telal's twin Alrik with his old promised Arianna- which has a painful ending.
The story was ok- but when you have SO many things going on at one time- things get jumbled up. Also, it was 200 pages too long for me and I ended up skimming through the second half due to boredom.
The only thing I remotely liked was the heartbreaking prologue to the next book.

Everything in these books happen so fast, but you can't bring yourself to criticise it (Maybe it is because when I love characters, the rest doesn't bother me that much). Celine's supportive behaviour was kind of surprising to me though; I thought she was going to sabotage them or something. Anyways, it was a sweet, fulfilling ending; I'm glad that I read this trilogy, because they eased my mind when I was extremely stressed.

When we first met Telal in Chains of Frost, he was a total stick in the mud. You would think someone with blue hair would be a little livelier. Lily is a spitfire. I love her charisma, her mismatched clothing choices and her free spirit. She is such a good match for Telal. So many things happen in this book that I don’t want to say too much and spoil it! The book was exciting and a great way to end the story of the Bellum sisters

T.A. Grey is such an imaginative writer. She creates so many magical worlds that it’s easy to get lost in. I am not sure if she is a self-publisher but there are instances in this, and the previous two, books that have omitted/misplaced words that disrupt the flow of the story. I was still able to enjoy the books regardless but I understand that others may have stronger issues with the editing. This series wasn’t my favorite but it was very enjoyable to read.

Of the three books, Lily and Telal's story is probably my favorite. I know I'm a freak of vampires, so I shouldn't be so overwhelmed by Ties That Bind, but this one really strike me right into my heart. I felt a strange connection between me and Lily that I didn't felt with the two other sisters (but the entire series was awesome!). Plus, I love when the girls are in charge and are the one to seduce the male :P Telal was also a wet dream all the time with his flaws and determination. The third and last novel of the Bellum Sisters series is full of surprise (Telal’s brother!?!?) and will not let the reader take a break until the very end!

Ties That Bind was a great end to the Bellum Sisters trilogy. I loved Lily and Telal, and was thrilled to see the relationship of Kearnyn and Rosa weaved into the story as well.

However, with this being the final book in the series, I wished the epilogue would have finished out more of Alrik's story. (Crossing fingers that maybe more will come in the future!) *hint, hint* :)

T.A. Grey is a fantastic writer who can make the page sizzle and leave you wanting one of her heroes for yourself, and I have no doubt that once this series has been polished and edited a bit more, it will be even more popular that it already is.

Ms. Grey is a definitely an author to keep your eye on. :)

Liked the story line. Bought the 4-pack of the series. I'll read the 4th book, or at least try since I'd like to see it through to the end.

Disliked spending most of my time rereading sentences, correcting words to make sense out of what the author was trying to say. Easy to see that the author used spell check to go through the book but neglected to make sure that while the spelling was correct, the word being used in the sentence was incorrect.

Lilly seems like the care free one of the sisters but you find out there is more to her. I love the story between her and her demon. She sure does give him a run for his money. The main story is good keeps you wanting more. The back stories are just as good and makes the whole series complete. Can't wait to read the next in the series.

The only thing that prevented me from giving this story 5 stars was the language/grammatical errors throughout the story. It was a little distracting and took away from my reading experience. Otherwise, it was a really great read.
