I had mixed feelings about this one. Oh, don’t get me wrong. I liked it but it was a little too heavy on the action. After a while, nothing but action scenes with no dialog gets dull (at least for me). However what was done with Naoto and Heine was very good storyline wise.

As for Badou and Mihai, we do see them but they don’t add much to the storyline other than to move them from above the city back down and to let us know that actually the down below is physically separated now by the dog soldiers’ attack, tons of rubble to clear. Badou knows a way down. Too bad the enemy knows this way too but it allows them to drop in on a plan that bodes ill for Badou’s friends. In the midst of this we see snippets of what happened to Giovanni after the Mayor got him (I would have liked more of this but that’s probably my desire to see bound men popping up).

As for Naoto and Heine, it picks up where it left off with crazy Magato finding her. Naturally they fight. He and Heine fight. Heck even Loki, Noki and Fruhling show up and fight. There is a bit too much of it really. But in the middle of these scenes (and one bizarre scene when the twins go home with Heine and Nill) we learn a lot about Naoto that I simply wasn’t expecting. It’s very strange and tightens the connections between the characters. I don’t want to say more than that since it’s a major twist. It ends with one of the major players moving to the next level of her game and with, of course, Heine and Magato fighting some more as Magato learns just what Heine is. (he seems to know more about Heine than Heine does).

I liked it. I wished it balanced plot with action a little better though. And now I have to sit and wait because we’re about caught up to where it is in Japan (I think…maybe) because they’re only putting out like one a book a year and this just came out in December. That part sucks.

Okay, do you wanna know something? Great.
I have an exam on Monday, and you know what I should be doing? Studying. But you know what I am doing?
That's right, I'm reading this book and writing this review. You wanna know why?
Because I am owned by my books and I am honest to god weak, that's why. So I'll just sit here at my desk, with my binders and textbook and papers spread out all over creation and concentrate on this here manga.
Great? Great. Well then here we go.

If I hadn't made it clear already, this series is starting to drastically affect my life and both an epic and totally-not-epic-kinda-shit way. It's got really great development and a pretty entertaining world and kick-ass action and distinctive characters, and its also been left hanging by the author & publisher.

Are you freaking kidding me right now?

What the hell guys?! Shirow Miwa, what do you have to say for yourself?! (Also, I love you and you've got incredible talent) but what the hell?!? Someone please correct me! As far as I can tell there are 10 books released and not one of the 3 I haven't read have fulfilling or satisfying or any sort of closure attached to it. Why do you do this to me world? What have I ever done to you??

So obviously I'm going to keep reading because god dammit I've invested my time in this and I intend to see it through (or at least as far as I can) but this is going to just infuriate me, I just know it.

So on that lovely note, you can all look forward to my flamewar-enciting reviews with bated breath. Also I had to write this on my phone because I blocked myself from Goodreads on my laptop until 10:00 so I'm bitching about that too. When I get access back I'll put some very happy-making picture or gif here to make up for this. So I really have to stop reading and do some freaking biology. Ahhhhhh PROCRASTINATION okay I'm going now bye.

*To będzie wspólna opinia do całej serii, chyba że któryś tom czymś się wyróżni w przyszłości*

Mroczna i brutalna. Klimat gangów, podziemia i barku skrupułów. Świat i państwa właściwie nie istnieją.
Gwałtowa i interesująca, a przedewszytkim jest dla mnie świetną odskocznią, bo jest totalnie inna niż to co ostatnio czytałam.

3.5 Stars!
That was... disappointing. I thought that the way certain characters finally met up again was badly executed, and also... WHY IN THE WORLD DID MIWA DECIDE TO MAKE HEINE LOOK LIKE A TEENAGER 90% OF THE TIME?!

While I still enjoy this series, this one was a little too much fight scene and not enough plot. that said, what plot there was took several twists and turns I didn't expect which was great.
