Vezradesh...in the Firym language that single word represents the heart, the soul, and eternity.
For Jala Merrodin the word has a single definition...Finn. Devastated by his loss Jala embarks into hell itself to free his soul. Time is against her however as she struggles to save him.

The world above is torn by the chaos of war and her allies are besieged on all sides by blights. If she doesn't move swiftly Jala may lose her only chance to raise Merro from the ashes.

Don't panic this is not the end of the series. Book four, "The Elder Blood Chronicles The Blessed Curse" to be out in June 2012.

Way better than Twilight and almost as engaging as Harry Potter

I’m so glad I stumbled onto Myers books! This series is so engaging and I become more intrigued with the characters after every chapter.

Each character has shades of grey; which the first book explains. The blend of good morals, uncouth behavior, and warring desires of vengeance and peace make the characters relatable. The lessons Myers weaves into her stories are a must read for young adults.

Another great book from Melissa Myers! You get so emotionally caught up in the characters that when one of them experiences heart wrenching pain you almost physically feel it. There are not very many books that I read that I cannot put down but this was one of them. Jala's journey to the Darklands to try and retrieve Finn's spirit from Death has you wondering at her devotion and sanity. Valor who was noted in the first two books takes a more commanding role as he travels with her to protect and help. Once there they encounter so many obstacles that you want to scream for her to turn back. As in all her books it was riddled with twists and turns that you were not expecting. After returning from the Darklands then we come to the birth of Legacy. As in book two we learn Jala is pregnant, now in book three she gives birth to Legacy, her son. Jala copes with the newness of being a mother and a leader, the separation and sadness.

Even though the book has a lot of dark times, there is humor. I especially liked the battle scene where she used a very unorthodox method for dealing with the advancing enemy. Valor not only proves that his name was wisely chosen, but he proves just how far he will go for Jala. Thankfully at the end of the book she realizes just how much he means to her. Keep these coming Myers, I am addicted to your style of writing.

Again, I can't say enough good things about this author and her series. One of my favorite things about Myers books is that she isn't predictible. Book three especially keeping me on my toes! I might think I know what's going to happen, but then she throws in a twist along the way that keeps me guessing. Her character development and story progression is beyond anything else I've ever read. Normally I lose many chacacters in any given storyline but I find myself attached to and remembering all of Myers characters even up to book three. Valor has quickly become one of my favorite as I've learned more about him in each book. The battle is epic and I was awed by Myers methods and ideals as to how magic works. So in depth and intricate. Truly beautiful elaboration of magic and it's use. So before I slip and drop a spoiler I will leave on this note... truly amazing, yet again! I knew book four was on my must have list! Enjoy!

***semi-spoiler/rant warning****First, I thought both bks 1&2 were fantastic & was excited to begin this book. In the beginning I thought this might be the best of the 3..until halfway through when I tossed my kindle aside--then i skimmed till the end.(please excuse my spelling I only use TTS)The fantasy aspect was great the romance(which is a major thread)was what killed it for me. I CAN'T stand love triangle/star-crossed love. I fell in love w/Finn & wasn't this about Jala & Finn not Valor?

The story is still good, but I want Finn back!!

The fantasy aspect is great, and I still enjoy the plot, but if you are a romance reader beware. I cried more during this book than the other two combined.

This is not some brilliant work of fiction. It has some mistakes. But I really liked the characters and the world. It had kick-ass female characters though the main is a bit too naïve at the start of the series she does learn in the end.
