Quince minutos... Quince minutos me tomó leerlo. ¿Qué rayos?
Así que no voy a ser tan duro dado que me esperaba algo similar. Sin embargo, ¿quince minutos? ¿En serio? ¿Tan corto? Se nota que necesitan vender.
De cualquier forma, está bien, o bueno, no tanto. Es recomendable comprarlo si no has leído "The Bro Code", puesto que esta es una versión mucho más resumida y fácil de utilizar al momento en que se debe de usar por su tamaño y simplicidad.
¿Lo distinto? Algunos lugares, pocos nuevos consejos, y una que otra broma que no estaban en el tomo completo.
Estoy pensando seriamente si adquirir o no el "Bro Code for Parents: What to Expect When You're Awesome"... Tal vez lo haga por pura nostalgia, who knows?

This is ridiculously short. In fact, I read it in about 5-10 minutes in the books department while I was waiting for my parents to finish up with their shopping, but it was probably one of the best times I've spent while waiting for someone, ever. It's definitely an amusing read, especially for 'How I Met Your Mother', Neil Patrick Harris, and Barney Stinson fans.
So why the 3 star rating? Well, like I said, it's so short! I know that the whole point of this book is that it's supposed to be small enough for someone to slip into their pocket, but it really felt like more of a 'best-of' from the Bro-Code, rather than a miniaturized dictionary-style version that I was expecting. (Although, now that I've read this, I will most likely pick up the Bro-Code for real. :P).
Also, for being a self-help book for someone 'on the go', it seemed to lack a most definite need for a TOC in the front. It did have an index in the back, but otherwise, I really can't judge this book too harshly past that. It gave me a good laugh while I was waiting, and that's probably more than what I could've asked for.

Bro On The Go, written by Barney Stinson (also known as Matt Kuhn) and published by Fireside Books, is a “how-to" format instant collection about how a “bro," or a single, American male, should compose himself and behave in various average scenarios. Sequel to The Bro Code, Bro On The Go is a supplement to the television series, How I Met Your Mother.
What was once simply my guilty pleasure became a phenomenon in the last few years—since episode 1, I’ve been following How I Met Your Mother with a vehement passion as I’ve watched numerous people climb aboard the band wagon since the advent of Netflix. Yes, I am glad that my secret admiration is now the love of millions more, but I’m a little disappointed too—after all, too few could call themselves a follower quite like me. After all, I own all the books and follow the blogs, twitters, and other related content, entranced by my similarities to Ted (love for literature and a butterfly tattoo? They only get more uncanny from there), but nonetheless, I’m proud of what they’ve accomplished. In any case, I picked up this up a few years ago and it’s kind of just been sitting around, so, after the very painful conquest of The Justice Riders, I figured I’d allow myself a little relief with this one.
The true bummer of this book is that it’s too damn short. Though only slightly shorter than it’s predecessor, I read this, front to back, on my morning trip to work on the subway. That’s about all there is to it. You could probably read the whole book within 20 minutes of sitting in a bookstore or a library if you desperately want to add a new book to your goal of books you wish to read by the end of the year. Essentially, each page contains a single phrase imparting some advice or acknowledgement of how a bro should or shouldn’t behave. That’s pretty much it. With only a hundred some pages, it’s a fucking breeze through. I’ve easily written more words than what this book contains in one night—hell, for all I know, this blog post has a higher word count.
However, despite it’s brevity, there’s actually some great things to be taken from this book, believe it or not. Because each rule is organized in a specific setting where the rule should go into effect; the office, the bar, the gym, etc. Kuhn in a very unique way creates scene. For instance, a bro at a baseball game is given rules about how he should wear his hat, behave before the jumbo tron, shout at the pitcher, and socialize with the stranger next to him—all these elements essentially put us in a baseball stadium seat as if we’re the bro described ourselves. The benefit is in the second person, and though the narrative doesn’t actually use the contrived address “you," but instead takes a more unique stance on the second-person narration with the phrase “a bro," the audience is immediately drawn into the scene by taking on the uniform of said bro. Thus, in a strange way, Kuhn pulls us into each moment as if he fully described it, before instructing us how we should behave as if we’re actually there, making this very short narrative one of extraordinary organization that departs more than simply good advice.
Kuhn never breaks character either—not in the introduction or the author’s biography, extending his reach into the character of Barney Stinson, but doing so in a way that isn’t self-referential to the television series, How I Met Your Mother. For instance, The Bro Code takes codes directly from the television show, but Bro On The Go, while being supplemental to both the show and its predecessor, do not depend on either. There are very few jokes, if any at all, in Bro On The Go that have been carried forward from the original TV show—all the rules and resulting anecdotes aren’t directly from the show either, but theoretical scenarios of how the show’s character, Barney Stinson, would behave in scenarios not shown on television. This makes the book far more accessible and, strangely, much more marketable than simply to fans of How I Met Your Mother, but honest-to-God rules that a bro can easily implement in his real life, supposing it was better marketed for bros. Or, y’know, if bros read or whatever.
In the end, I can’t give this book a perfect rating—I can’t even give it an almost perfect rating. It’s just too short and I want so much more. However, split between the middle, I would definitely say this book is a good bet. It’s fun, it’s quick, and, as an author, it will really make you think about how to bolster your own scenes with the grace and brevity provided by simpler points-of-view.

Cette fois, notre cher Barney nous guide sur le parfait Bro en société. On y apprends avec classe et élégance (toujours !), à bien se comporter parmi la gente féminine et parmi les siens. Là sur le coup, je ne saurais quoi dire sur le sujet. J’avoue que je n’ai pas eu l’occasion mettre sur pied l’un de conseil… sauf pour le ciné… ou le centre commercial… ou dans les toilettes… bref, si vous vous voulez survivre et être unique, suivez ses quelques principes du Bro :
Un bro à un ballet : Indisponible => Normal :3
Un bro au club de strip-tease : Dans un scénario où au moins deux Bros regarderaient un divertissement pour adultes, un Bro ne peut en AUCUN cas, volontairement ou involontairement, toucher un autre Bro. => rooohh dommage, sérieusement, moi je dis que ça gâche de futur relation. Eh puis c’est surement une avance (épisode 2)
Un Bro au volant : C’est entièrement la faute de la voiture de devant. => approuvé !!! C’est jamais de ma faute (même si j’ai pas le permis XD )
Un Bro au centre commercial : On trouve toujours le temps pour un petit un tour au rayon au rayon électronique. => personnellement, c’est le premier et le dernier endroit que je passe lors d’un shopping. Ouais je suis un vrai Bro moi !!
Un Bro en boite de nuit : Un Bro ne danse jamais les mains au-dessus de la tête. => hey ! Mais qui ose faire ça ?!
Un Bro à la salle de gym : Dieu n’a pas créé le Lycra pour les mecs. => haaaaannnn mais pourquoi ?! Pourtant ça va si bien à certain <3
Tout ça pour vous dire, que ce Bro tout de GO est votre guide ultime pour suivre un rythme dit BG ( Beau Gosse). Je l’ai testé et je l’approuve.

Less impressive than the original The Bro Code but a nice complementary piece to go along with it. Some are repeats from the main book (as we are told) but there are some fresh fun gems in here as well. You'll manage to finish this in about 10 minutes, depending on how deeply you reflect on the advice given to you by the legendary Barney Stinson!
Some examples:
For a Bro on a date:
-Sure, the popcorn trick sounds like a great idea, but nobody's actually ever done it. And that's why she'll never see it coming.
For a Bro in his pad:
-Stuffing your matching sheet sets inside one of the pillow cases is a no-fuss way to keep your linens organized.
And the Bro at the movies:
-No matter how bad it is, DO NOT WALK OUT OF A KATE WINSLET FILM: 83 percent chance of a rack cameo, highest of any multiple Academy Award nominee.
And my favorite:

-In a gravity-free environment, one Bro isn't always expected to Bro out another Bro by letting said Bro go first. For example, if the former Bro had the chance to be the First Bro on the Moon but was like, "No, go ahead Bro, it's all you." That's just stupid, Bro.

For those of you who have already read The Bro Code, this was a quick way to try and sell a similar book to the same people. Is it funny? Sure, mostly. But it does repeat itself more than once. Is it all new? No. Sadly out of the 80 or so jokes in this book My guess is 10 - 15 of them are from The Bro Code. So, you kind of get jipped there.
And this book is REALLY short! Almost feel dumb calling it a book. But if you have say 10 minutes, and I am not exaggerating there, go ahead and give it a shot.

November 19, 2011To save time, I'm writing one review for The Bro Code, Bro on the Go, and The Playbook. These books were a lot of fun for any fan of the TV show How I Met Your Mother. One of my most and least favorite things about the show has been the complex changes made in the character of Barney Stinson. However, these books are clearly meant to have been written by the Barney you'll remember from when the show began, so if you are looking for some good humor from that more one dimensional character, you'll enjoy these plenty.

Do I get to count this as book 5 of 2011? Bro on the Go is apparently a companion to Barney's The Bro Code. Bro on the Go gives some simple brotastic advice on certain situations along with Barney's bro insight.
Perhaps if I had read The Bro Code, I could enjoy this book more, but there wasn't enough in this one. Some of Barney's insights also sounded really sarcastic, but one isn't sure.

En la línea de The Bro Code, aunque repitiendo demasiado lo que ya decía éste.
Si The Bro Code básicamente consiste en el compendio de reglas que debe cumplir un buen 'Bro', aquí la idea es reflejar el comportamiento adecuado en situaciones cotidianas, en una cita, en el trabajo, en la playa, en el cine...
Se lee en menos de media hora, por lo que puedes conformarte con dedicarle un rato en tu librería favorita.

Ce livre est une version light de Bro Code avec quelque nouvelles ajout.
Autrement dit, "on a penser a des nouvelles jokes, mais on avait pas dequoi faire un nouveau livre complet, et une version édité du bro code serait con car on vient de sortir le livre".
Un peu comme un greatest hit avec des tounes de plus, ce livre reste quand même amusant à cause des même raison que le bro code.
Pour les collectionneurs, les complétionniste ou les gens qui voudraient une version allégée du Bro Code.

Won a copy of this via Twitter (thanks, @CBSTweet). The really hilarious thing is that it literally is a book small enough to stash in your glove compartment for emergencies. It took maybe five minutes to flip through it, and while some of it was in the original Bro Code, there were a few tidbits that weren't. Either way, well worth having. Love.

It was too short that i read it between 5-10 mins. The Bro Code was hilarious but that one was like an appendice for it.
