Another adorable story by Sharon Kleve! I love the Corny Myers series and never disappointed with a read by Ms. Kleve.
Pet Detective Corny Meyers has the ability to converse with animals which helps her solve her cases. This time she has a difficult case to solve...what is she going to get her Valentine Steve? She thought it would be fun for her and Steve to exchange a gift each day leading up to Valentine's Day. While she's solving cases and racking her brain for gift ideas, she has a partner this week. Steve's drug dog, Brutus is off the job after his bad behavior almost cost the narcotics unit an arrest. Corny and Brutus spend the week together. Love Brutus and his sarcasm he dishes out to Corny. Maybe Brutus can help Corny with her dilemma...
'Be Mine' was a fun read! Ms. Kleve continues to bring her characters to life (including the fury ones) and keeps you turning the page!

Book three in the series gets better. I loved the pet psychic story this time. We got more into that part of Corny's life. I love her quirky friends and assistant, could really use the back story on that.

The dialogue is still immature, but I think I am getting used to it. I am very interested in seeing how the next book will go, this one was rather short.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Christy Williamson, who is not the right fit for this book. She has a very youthful voice that would be better suited for YA reads. While she has great energy, it only adds to the overall feel of immaturity in the story. This just wasn't the right pairing, it only served to highlight flaws. I would love to hear her on a younger read where her voice would be a real credit to the material.

Disclosure - I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions and ratings are my own.

Corny is back and planning a week of surprises for her live in boyfriend Steve. As the quirky character shares her plans with Steve’s drug sniffing dog who is in the dog house, he gives some comedy relief when Corny’s plans don’t always go as planned.

A hilarious set of quick stories about Corny. Corny reminds me of a bit of a goof ball, but in the best way. She kinds of goes with the flow and has no idea how things are going to turn out but is always willing to try. Hope to read more in this delightful series.

Be Mine ~ The Corny Myers Series ~ Book 1by Sharon Kleve is set in the Seattle area of Washington State. Corny Myers has a unique ability that lets her talk to animals and they can talk back. She owns a pet retrieval business to recover runaway pets. In this short story set around Valentine's Day, she has a deal with her boyfriend, Steve a cop to give each other gifts all week of Valentines not just one day. The gifts are humorous when Corny gets the help of Brutus, Steve's drug sniffing dog for help. I laughed from start to finish while reading Be Mine.

It's Valentines Day and Corny is going to knock it out of the park by surprising her sweetie with a weeks worth of surprises. Day one doesn't go as planned but with Brutus, a dog who speaks his mind, at her side she's bound to find the perfect gifts. Another fun, fast-paced story by Sharon which will bring smiles to your face as Corny (my Mrs. Doolittle) retrieves missing pets and really gets to know the reason of their adventures. Definitely a fun read.
