From the author of Highway to Vengeance comes an epic supernatural thriller of mythical proportions:
A former black ops agent turned vigilante-for-hire, Scott Logan does the dirty work that most people are unable or unwilling to do. Known by some as Thirteen due to the tattoo on the back of his neck, he is a man with finely-honed skills and a past shrouded in mystery and confusion.
Johnny Torrance is a ten-year-old boy with mental capabilities that have landed him in a secret government compound known as The Farm. Not only can Johnny perform incredible feats using only his mind, for years he's had dreams that span the entirety of human history, dreams about a warrior of many faces, a man whose only consistent feature is the number thirteen tattooed on the back of his neck.
When Logan is asked by an enigmatic old friend to rescue Johnny from The Farm, he accepts without hesitation, completely unaware that his tattoo signifies far more than just a number. It is a sign, a marker identifying him as something more than human, a warrior beyond time, trained over the centuries for a specific purpose.
Once united, Logan and Johnny must evade Logan’s former black ops team and a far more insidious enemy long enough to understand what they truly are; warriors beyond the boundaries of humanity, each with specific roles in the shadow war that dominates our world.
Thirteen is a 97,000 word novel.
Also includes a sneak preview from Darkness Unbound, the second Scott Logan novel.

I consistently read new authors who publish e-books, finding them more than able to fill my "reading time" and there are some gems in the ore. The high-priced "best sellers" I get from the library, but for everyday reading I like finding gems.
This one was a gem because it was well written and well edited (NO GRAMMAR ISSUES!) And, the story was good. Sort of sci-fi, sort of thriller. A fun read.
I really enjoyed this book. However, this author needs to get a better editor. I would have given it 2 stars just for that, but I got past it and into the story. Thankfully.
