Brad played with her long red hair murmuring, "My beautiful Feral." He grasped the back of her neck and kissed her deeply. The look he gave her at the end of the kiss was ripe with tenderness. Brad escorted her to The Room and asked her to strip down while he retrieved something from the kitchen. Amy stood in the secret room naked and alone. She looked at the wall of sex toys and wondered what tonight's entertainment would be.

Brad returned with a single chair and placed it next to her. "I need you to get the paddle off the wall." Amy's insides churned. Was he going to punish her for what happened earlier with Troy? She took it down slowly, her hand trembling as she walked back to him.

When she returned to his side, Brad was already wearing his leather mask and had other items laid out for her. She handed the paddle over saying softly, "Don't hurt me, Master."

Brad's green eyes stared at her from behind the dark mask. "I will do what I want, Feral." She was relieved when he smiled and added, "But I promise you will like it."

This is my second book by this author, and after having read this quickie, I think I'm going to have to go back and download all the Sensual Erotica chapters so I can get the full story. These aren't really quickies. They are chapters, and this one leaves you hanging. This is a light-on-the-BDSM and heavy-on-the-erotica story. I found the dominant Brad very compelling, and I think Amy's crazy to throw that away for Troy over what amounts to a really good case of 'the grass is always greener...' syndrome. (Sounds like a soap opera for the fetishly-inclined.) I was so engrossed in the story, I only saw one mistake. But for me, it's a major one and that's why I gave this 4 out of 5 stars. When one scene ends and another begins, they need to be separated out (a series of * * * do well for this purpose). Not just for ease of reading, but because it jolts the reader from the story when there is no visual aid to let them know the one scene (which was flowing so well) had come to an end and now, suddenly, several days have passed and our characters are somewhere else, doing something different.

This small, niggling point aside, the story did what it was meant to: My appetite has been whetted for more by this author and from these characters. I thoroughly enjoyed the seduction of the tale, I very much want to download the rest of the story's 'quickies', and I am probably going to end up being a Red Phoenix fan for life. I can definitely recommend this series for those who enjoy a little fetish with their erotica.

This story was ok, poor Brad got left in the end. Amy doesn't seem to know what exactly she wants, so I am unsure if I like her character at all. Since this is a short story, I can understand the under development of her character. I hope to read more from this author to get a better feel of his/ her writing style:-)

OH MY!!! There's nothing like finally being a true love! Being with a man that you can't get out of your heart! But once again Red Phoenix just leaves you wanting more from her characters...I felt like they were my friends because I can relate to them so! Great hot read! On to the next one!!! Once you start you just can't stop!!!

The Flame is a short story about a girl, Amy and Master, Brad. They have a Master/slave relationship and he loves her. Troy, an old friend comes back into her life and she makes a difficult choice between the two men. The writing is excellent but the plot is about an immature girl that comes across as not knowing what she wants.

Finally, we get to see Troy and Amy together...I feel bad for Brad but I think Amy needs to explore what possibilities lie within a relationship with Troy before she can ever truly move on...I enjoyed every part of this book.
