Josh and Willy are next door neighbors and best friends. When a rock is thrown through the window of Josh's house while his family is celebrating Hanukah, it is young Willy who is able to rally the street in support. This poignant and uplifting story of friendship, tolerance and community, based in part on a true incident, highlights the true spirit of the holidays. Kids- Picture Book
A Light in the Darkness is a lovely children’s book which teaches tolerance and support of those who may not have the same beliefs or are different than you.
What a wonderful book to read over the holiday season. Totally recommend.
This is a wonderful middle grade book. Though there are some structural and grammatical issues, the story is worth the read. It is moving and a testament to true friendship.
I was angry that the Jewish family was asked to change something inside their home to stop the behavior of a hateful criminal. I appreciated what the community did to solve the problem. For me, the unity was the true power and teaches the lesson that by banding together, we can make a difference without violence.
It's sad that racism exists. However, it's nice to have a book that shows kids there's a solution. It's good to have a way to illustrate the power kids have in effecting change.
A light in the Darkness is a book about acceptance and the power to effect positive changes. A neighborhood supports a Jewish family and change is made. A good message.
A Light In The Darkness by Aaron Zevy – This is a sweet story about friendship conquering hate. We could all use more light at this time of year! Happy Holiday Reading!
I was inspired by the goodness of the people living in the cul de sac. People of all colors and religions affiliations must not tolerate the bullying of unknown individuals
A children's book with a great message for all of us. With so much anger and hatred towards people that are "different", this book is a must read. Share it's message!
