A fun, Sexy Read - Great for the BDSM literature novice - It's cute and steamy.

“Tell me I am your Master.”
“You are my Master,” she repeated.
“Beg me to begin your training.”
Her voice caught, her tone taking an note of vulnerability that drove him wild. “I beg you, Master, train me to serve your every pleasure. Please, Master. I’m yours.”
Yet another "Secret BDSM Club" Series, but I really enjoy it, and I'm a huge fan of the Author.

A reporter (Joanna) tries to join the most exclusive BDSM Club in the hopes of writing a story which will launch her career... Only to discover the dark desires hidden within herself.

All of the books contain the perspectives of multiple characters...
Outsiders,
Insiders,
Tops,
Bottoms,
Club Owners,
Members,
Etc...

Its's a lot of fun, and the first book is FREE, so check it out.

Disclaimer: snark and gifs.

First of all BDSM is not some sooper sekrit society. It really isn't. Honest. There are dungeons in most major cities.

NOPE!

Also SAFE WORDS, and video taping someone and taking photographs of them without their consent and/or knowledge is a no-no and unethical.

SMITE!

Also there was pretty much sex and bondage, nothing really THAT kinky. I want some flogging and caning, and at least some spanking.

This novella is book 1 in a series. Not sure if they will all be novellas though.

This was pretty ok. Certainly not terrible but nothing awesome either.

The story is about this private club, called Plume. Its a BDSM club (I think in NYC?) and you have to go through an interview and whatnot to be admitted. Its super, super exclusive and super, super private. Private like privacy is of the utmost concern. There is no register of members. The location of the club parties changes every time.

Joanna is a reporter for a newspaper but she feels like she's floundering in her career, banished to the Lifestyle section. So she takes on this assignment, an expose of Plume. She knows it will be difficult but if she can pull it off, it'll be HUGE for her career.

She sends an email to the address on the Plume website. She gets a response and is invited for an interview. Blah blah blah

Oh my god, I'm bored just typing this. Let me sum it up. The people at Plume know that Joanna is a reporter and that she's just out for a story. The man who owns Plume, Rex, knows Joanna from way back, like maybe high school? But since its a BDSM club, she never sees his face. But, through the interview process, Joanna, Rex and the Plume folks find out some inner desires that Joanna didn't even know she had.

This was an EXCELLENT set up for the series. I think the characters will be really great once they're fleshed out a bit more. But for me, I didn't really care for Joanna. I feel like she's being really deceitful and I guess that's her job... to get the story. But it just left a bad taste in my mouth.

I would definitely give this series another shot. But I didn't fall in love with this one. There's, of course, hot sex. There's also some bondage, etc. Everything you'd expect from a BDSM novel. I wasn't wowed BUT it sure was hot!

Erotica BDSM

I admit it's been years since I read this, but I remember thinking it was a pretty cool story & wanting to read more.
It's about a journalist who is looking to 'Out' the club.
And well, lets say she ends up with some 'Self Discovery' moments.

While this is a type of 'Serial' it is also a 'Series'.
It's basically about various characters & what happens in a club called 'The Plume'.
This book was about 100+ pages.
#2-8 is also about 100+ pages each (give or take) & #9, the final book is about 140 pages.

Now, you aren't going to be able to get to this book via any links on GR.
And the author did something very interesting. She grouped these books into bundles.
Those you can find on GR. So, If you want to give #1 a try it's still free & here is the link for it on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...

The bundles are:

The Plume: The First Collection by Ella Ardent
The 1st three novellas of The Plume Series: Submission, Surrender, and Seduction. $9.99

The Plume: The Second Collection by Ella Ardent
The 2nd three novellas of The Plume Series: Deception, Exhibition, and Exposure. $6.82

The Plume: The Third Collection by Ella Ardent
The final three novellas of The Plume Series: Flashback, Switch, and Celebration. $9.99

Prices etc. may have changed since I first wrote this review.
But they are worth looking into if you like
'Make me Squirm' hot sexy scenes 😈

What a fantastic story!! And when I got it it was free on Amazon.co.uk!!

I think it's the first erotica story I've read where it's not had any elements where I've been like "really?!? Oh God NO!!! Stop it, that's just not sexy!!" I know everyone is in to different things though so this book might just better suit what I like.

I like the characters and the fact that both parties enjoy and consent to what is happening as in some books one of the characters, usually the submissive, at times are really uncomfortable with what is happened where as the characters in this book are loving life.

Would recommend to someone looking for this type of book as it's not too hard core and does actually have character development.

For a free book from Amazon, this wasn’t bad at all. I thought the characters were well written. We’re told that Joanna is extremely career-driven, but it also showed in her actions, and in her verbal responses around others. She’s also rather painfully uptight. I tend to not like any story with a reporter in them because the majority of them will steamroll anyone to get their big break. Not that running a story on the highly secretive BDSM club, the Plume, is Pulitzer Prize worthy, but Joanna thinks it could be the springboard to the big leagues. She volunteers to pretend to want admission and is even willing to subject herself to a battery of tests and lie about the types of sexual desires she wishes to explore. At that point I was gunning for her to get taken down a peg or two. She fails her first test, but not before being made uncomfortably aware that maybe she’s one of those “weirdos” who enjoys a little kink. Little does she know that the owner, Rex, is on to her, but he also knows her. But how far is he willing to go to protect his club?

I can’t speak for the chemistry between Rex and Joanna because every encounter they have, throughout the entire story, he manages to keep her blindfolded. She never sees him, just hears and feels him. As farfetched as those situations may seem, Joanna wants to explore her desires, but in the back of her mind the “big scoop” still lingers. When it comes to the sex scenes they’re ^@%$ HOT! I even liked the complicated descriptions of Kinbaku that Rex performed.

There were a few typos in the second half of the book, but I still enjoyed the story. Bear in mind this isn’t a HEA book; more like a HFN or just inconclusive. I may read book 2, but after reading the blurb, I might stop after that. I’m not sure how I feel about the direction it will take. I’m a HEA kinda gal. But if you like a hot tamale read, and you don’t mind the endings being up in the air, pick this up.

3.5 rounded up to 4

I liked the beginning of this short book. However, (there is always a however), I did not like the whole unrealistic premise of the whole thing... So, I am to believe that this uptight lady is willing to go out on a limb and have all kinds of weird sex with strangers just to get a story?! Really?! And realistically, it's not even that of an important story that she's making it out to be! It's a story about a sex club! How is this story that important that it will advance her career to hard news?! Yea right! And all the things that she is doing for this story hardly seem worth it! All this from a perspective of someone who does not like kinky sex, someone who is pretty vanilla about the whole thing... If the main character was described differently - then maybe the readers would buy it... Finally, I did not like the indecisiveness of the author in terms of the heroine liking Mike and/or Rex. Don't get me wrong - it would be ok if the heroine herself was indecisive and this was part of the plot - i.e. "do I want him... or do I want him?" But no - it doesn't seem like that - it seems that one moment Joanna is imagining Mike during intimate moments with Rex, the next moments she is saying she doesn't want Mike because he is "too sweet" !!! The author needs to make up her mind and flesh out all these characters more, so that we know what the deal is, because at this point they are all very shallow...

Oh, must not forget to mention that one whole portion is plagiarised from "Beauty's Punishment" by A.N. Roquelaure...The part with the melon and honey is taken straight out of "Beauty" word for word!! Nice, real nice... If you are not creative and don't have ideas of your own, then writing a book if probably not for you :S

Excellent idea and start, but most of the stuff was just way too unrealistic - actions, dialogue, events, etc...

2.5★★★Submission by Ella Ardent (The Plume Series Book 1)

This is a BDSM short coming in around 85 pages.

I read this after numerous recommendations. I didn't hate it, but I sure as hell wasn't waiting at the edge of my seat either. I was told they get better, hope so, since I have the series. I'll giving book 2 a shot, since I might be setting this up to unreasonable standards after reading the Brie series.

Really good hot erotic BDSM story. Well written with characters and story that easily followed and I found myself hooked right a way. At the end of the book I found myself immediately searching out the next in the series unable to take a break from needing to continue the story.

Pretty bondage. Usually, I'm either ambivalent or pissed about a story with sequels, but this was fun and sensual to the senses so I'm up for the next book.

Submission (The Plume book 1)

OK....so I didn't think I was going to enjoy this story. I suppose I thought it was going to be just like all the other stories in this genre. I was completely wrong. Actually that's not true, it is similar to other books I have read, but this is so well written that you find yourself hooked from the moment you start reading.
It is a short erotic story so you don't really get to know the characters, but this is a series so I am sure we will as the story progresses.
The scenes written have a wonderful erotic feel and I found them sexy to read. I enjoyed reading the emotions they felt.... rather than just about the sex, although that was great as well!
I don't know anything about BDSM but I liked reading this...a lot...so truth or not about BDSM, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. I would definitely like to read more from this author and this series.

Joanna is a reporter looking for her big break. She thinks she has found that with Plume, a super secret BDSM club. In order to get the inside scoop, she has to become a member.

I'll say that I liked this story, but I didn't fall in love with it. Rex, the owner of this club, is very protective of his and his client's privacy, so when he finds out that yet another reporter is looking to get in, he decides to teach her a lesson. The fact that he knows Joanna from way back was a nice touch, and their interactions could have been fantastic, especially since Joanna has always been his dream girl. Now that he has a chance to get her, he treats her like crap. I'll say that Rex probably stayed true to a real life person, but this is fantasy and that's what I was looking for. For me, he should have been a protector and instead he punished Joanna even when it was clear that she was being genuine with him and even made her cry. In the end, he just leaves her bound to a hotel bed. Joanna initially came off as a headstrong go getter, and I really liked that, but after some kinky sex she turns into a submissive puddle and pretty much crawls back to Rex on her hands and knees in desperation at every turn. What ticked me off the most was that her friend and co-worker Mike seems like a genuinely nice guy and she has been pining away after him for, like, ever. The reader knows that he is also a dominate (at least at one point in time) and he is interested in her too, but he is completely forgotten about in lieu of good sex.

All in all, the story was pretty good. The writing was excellent and the story was fleshed out well. The cliffhanger was a great place to stop, since this is the start to what is bound to be an explosive series. It just wasn't enough for me though. I am curious to see where these two relationships head, and I may check it out sometime, but for now, I am shelving it as a maybe. This is definitely a hot read and I can see a lot of people loving it, but it just didn't strike me like I would have hoped. Maybe the next one will.

I hadn't read anything by Ella Ardent before getting "Submission," so I wasn't sure what to expect.

Wow..I was somewhat surprised to find a pleasantly steamy and interesting story. Although the plot -- nosy reporter gets admitted to BDSM club -- has been done to death, somehow Ardent manages to make the characters fresh. Joanna, the reporter, inveigles her way into The Plume, only to find a lot more than she bargained for. Rex is a Dom who recognizes Joanna as a childhood friend, and performs the 'introductions' the activities for Plume members. Mike, Joanna's co-worker, has a history with The Plume, but he's closed that part of his life, so I guess we'll find out more about Mike in upcoming sequels. Athena, Rex's business partner at The Plum, is the requisite bitchy Domme.

This is the first installment of a series, which is rather aggravating (and expensive)...but I'll probably buy them anyway.

This was an erotica book with a very good plot, the sex scenes are written very well, quite explicit but with nothing offensive.
This book contains themes of Bondage, S&M and Slave/Master relationships but it is all very clearly consented and there is no evidence of abuse.
The plot centres around a young female journalist trying to get her big break, she volunteers to go undercover to get a story about The Plume, a notorious BDSM club that lots of people are talking about but nobody seems to be able to verify.
She gains access and enters into some very kinky sex in a bid to get her story but to her surprise it awakens desires in her that she never even knew she had.
I will be reading the next book in the series.
I gave this book 4 and a half stars because there were a few typos but these did not distract from the book.

I've read several of these "Reporter infiltrates a BDSM club and discovers she is a secret submissive" stories.

I'm actually surprised by how often that particular plot is used.

However!

This version was way more enjoyable than any of the others I have picked up over the last few years. I was actually re-reading this. I downloaded it for free a while back and resolved to one day finish the series.

It took nearly a year, but I finally downloaded all three anthologies (nine books total) and I'm going to read the whole series back to back.

I think what works for me more than anything with this book is that there are so many characters offering their perspective, so if I'm ever unhappy or uninterested in one character, there is always another POV around the corner.

I really recommend this book, and since it is free, I hope you won't hesitate to pick it up.

I thought this was a pretty interesting book. I would have liked a little more information on the back story between some of the characters and maybe a little more character building, but overall it was decent. I found the story line quite interesting. A young reporter is trying to catch her big break and volunteers to "join" a BDSM club in order to get the story. Much to her surprise, she finds herself interested in the club and enjoying her "initiation." I'm interested to see how the second book continues the story. On a side note...it really annoys me that the ribbon on the cover is red and not purple. The book clearly states that the ribbon was purple.

What an interesting book. It's about a newspaper reporter, Joanna, who's trying to expose a BDSM club called "Plume" to help get a step up in her career. She volunteers to join this extremely exclusive club, and realizes she enjoys it more than she thought she would.

The book was very well written, and I loved all the details. The way Ella Ardent writes kept me from putting this one down. The sex was great, and I was wishing The Master might fall in love with Joanna. I would have preferred some more backstory on the characters, but still, I was hooked into this book from the start. I can't wait to get my hands on the next in the series!

Pretty good for an erotic short story. The beginning was a little unbelievable, but nobody is reading this stuff for the back-story. Just think of it as a complete fantasy, where Plain Jane has actually has a chance with Mr Quarterback, and she is daring enough to try dark chocolate when she's never had anything but vanilla. (BTW, that is not a reference to race.) The sex was hot! Not too many books have covered the rope bondage angle, and this one does so quite nicely: A silky ribbon and a tender man give it a romantic spin instead of the usual rough BDSM. I would read more in this series...

I love the idea of a woman, who goes out of her way to hide her femininity, ending up volunteering to write a story about a very private and exclusive sex club. Then once she gets a taste of the pleasures within, and end up discovering some surprising things about herself.

I can't wait to see how Joanna will react once she realizes her connection to the Master (if she does)

Now for the reason that it only got 4 stars instead of 5: The sex scenes were great, but please lets call a spade a spade , and also their were a few too many typos for an already short read.

I got this because it was free. I wasn't expecting too much out of it. It's a great length for a free book. Extremely detailed. Wonderfully written. The characters were excellent. Made me want to be right there in the midst of all the action. I'm disappointed that the next few are not free, but since I can buy at 3-for-1, I am looking forward to having a little extra cash to spend, and I fully intend to buy the rest of the series. I can't wait to have my Husband read them, as well. Oh the ideas ......

Im really loving this series- I bought the first anthology- Books 1-3 so I'll be posting reviews of the next 2 as well, but - this book is so well done. I thoroughly enjoy the storyline so far. And even though this was marketed as a "novella" I felt like this one ended in a satisfying way while also leaving me wanting to know what happens in the next book. This was a four not a five because there is some cleanup that needs to be done with the manuscript- missing words, misused words, mispellings etc. But overall, a very very enjoyable book!

Joanna, a reporter, after a story; she tires to become a slave at the secret sex club called The Plume. It is an interesting story where she starts pretending to be submissive only to find her secret desires at the hands of The Master. Her development sexually makes a hot steamy story bound in love. You will enjoy this one from start to finish. I am waiting for the next part of this story to continue the relationship between Joanna and The Master in Submission ~ The Plume.

This was a fun short story that I downloaded for free on my Nook. You got to love free books, but of course this was book one and to get the whole story you have to buy the rest. Which I did!
Uptight reporter, joanna, tries to sneak into a sex club so she can write a tell all piece about the club, but the owners have a plan to put her in her place and teach her a lesson. It was worth the read.
