After rallying the troops, Karic prepares for the final battle and assumes his role as the chosen one. Wonderfully written, the creators reference mythological and archetypical stories. The story still manages to surprise and the characters are now real people you care for.

Antagonists get their moment to shine. Blow out of a climax. Fantastic stuff.

So, looks as if I'm almost caught up to this series again. This is more myth building and you get to see several legends built up at the same time. History is revisited by several different factions while the current myths are reinforced and changed and passed.

It is interesting to see how the same story is retold and aggrandized as repeated. Broken telephone for the eyes.

Loved this series from the moment I began reading. The lives of mice, as we've never thought of them; their challenges, wars, enemies, dreams, religions, families...

Lots of violence, wars, grown up topics. This is NOT for young children.

Highly recommended.

A lot of action, a lot of information, but one problem is that it seems to take characters forever to get to one place, then almost no time to return from it.

This volume of the Mice Templar saga was just as, if not even more so, action packed and engaging as any previous volumes. The themes and ideas behind the story are as deep as ever, but these issues began to subvert much of what we thought we knew about the world and history of the Templar... I’ll be eagerly waiting to read the next volume!
