Not exactly what I needed, but a decent read. The printing I have is very outdated though. I wish we could still deduct more than $300 for giving to charities!

A solid, informative read.
Good for anyone who is inheriting, may inherit, or even those who are evaluating their pending estate and making plans to pass it on. This book provided good, factual, contextual and directive information to provide a basic framework of education and FYI points to help people plan for what is likely an inevitable event in everyone's life.

While many of the case studies dealt with instances of significant wealth transfer, the preparation, planning and "to do" checklist of actions and suggestions is valid and applicable to any scenario of estate transfer, regardless of size.

In no way does this supplant the need for sound financial and legal advice from experts in the field, but it does provide a nice starting point to point you in the right direction. If you're assessing your own estate plans, and even moreso if you're anticipating the need or opportunity to speak with your parents about THEIR plans, I'd suggest this as an excellent read.

I really enjoyed this read because of the case stories included from other families. It really helped to call to mind some specific issues that my husband and I are/may have to deal with in future. It enabled us to start the process with my father-in-law, and he was very appreciative. It's such a difficult subject to talk about, and everyone should have a heads-up on caregiving/beneficiary issues.
