There's the date from hell -- the guy in a bad suit and toupee -- and the hot date from hell. These men are waaay too tempting. One wicked, sexy grin and, well -- who can resist! Certainly not these three women....
A spy should know better, but this spy gets stuck on a blind-date assignment with the ex-partner who broke her heart. A lot of making up can get done between scaling rooftops and dodging bullets. "Dance with the Devil" by Cherry Adair
A hostess discovers what it's like to really crash and burn on her first date with the undercover cop who's been casing her restaurant.... "Hal and Damnation" by Muriel Jensen
And if that isn't hot enough, what about a date from hell... literally. Satan at his seductive best! It's getting hot in here .... "Blind Date from Hell" by Anne Stuart
Anne Stuart is a grandmaster of the genre, winner of Romance Writers of America's prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, survivor of more than thirty-five years in the romance business, and still just keeps getting better.
Her first novel was Barrett's Hill, a gothic romance published by Ballantine in 1974 when Anne had just turned 25. Since then she's written more gothics, regencies, romantic suspense, romantic adventure, series romance, suspense, historical romance, paranormal and mainstream contemporary romance for publishers such as Doubleday, Harlequin, Silhouette, Avon, Zebra, St. Martins Press, Berkley, Dell, Pocket Books and Fawcett.
She’s won numerous awards, appeared on most bestseller lists, and speaks all over the country. Her general outrageousness has gotten her on Entertainment Tonight, as well as in Vogue, People, USA Today, Women’s Day and countless other national newspapers and magazines.
When she’s not traveling, she’s at home in Northern Vermont with her luscious husband of thirty-six years, an empty nest, three cats, four sewing machines, and one Springer Spaniel, and when she’s not working she’s watching movies, listening to rock and roll (preferably Japanese) and spending far too much time quilting.
3*Blind Date from Hell by Anne Stuart 2003 Both react in predictable electric storm of hormones when Gideon, former Casanova-type assigned by form-changer Ralph from high-level hell motel-like-room, is stranded with virgin super-model Sam in remote rural seduction hideaway.
5*Dance with the Devil by Cherry Adair (Wilkinson) 2003 Spy-flavored action shoots above and beyond, really, over routine "he never tells me about his past". Penny-watcher Mia expects blind date who disclosed rough youth for dinner, not wealthy extravagant husband Jack Ryan, before silent about growing up, in assignment to retrieve disk from embassy during black-tie gala, despite armed heavies chasing them out window over rooftop, and hot quick closet interruption.
4* Hal and Damnation by Muriel Jensen "Mayberry" California deputy amuses while irritable Kat huffs and puffs at put-upon, "just doing my job", deserves to be exasperated Hal. Family restaurant manager Kat doesn't know "insubordinate and subversive" waiter Hal is undercover cop prepping for robbery next-door, until he leads them hiking out from unexpected not-crash landing after steamy hot night in his freezing small plane on snowy mountain meadow. I get tired of keeping secrets plots.
A must read. Three short stories that capture your heart. The first story will melt your heart with the ending. Anne Stuart did a great job. Cherry's story will not disapoint any of her fans. It was fast action aced, and sexy. Cherry has to be channeling Mata Hari to write such great female heroines. Sex in aclloset then running across icy roofs. Yum fun. Muriel Jensen also should not be understated. Her story is fun and intriguing. Nothing like a plane crash to admit your dreams andlater crash them.
I basically got this book for Anne Stuart's story. She never disappoints. I would say that Gideon is a softer hero than in her past books. Now, DO NOT get me wrong when I say soft, he's just not as Gamma as her normal heroes are. After all when you have been in Hell for a while, it tends to chill you out. It's a good short-easy read by her, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes Anne's writing. The other two stories were good. But, Anne's was hands-down the best.
Three stories, three reviews. This is a Valentines collection so it's got sex. This is a one-day read for sure. Blind Date From Hell by Anne Stuart - Typical but very sweet paranormal romance - human w/ a demon. Dance With The Devil by Cherry Adair - Typical contemporary romance - exes who are spies realize that they belong together. Hal and Damnation by Muriel Jensen - Typical contemporary romance - undercover cop falls in love with the woman he's guarding.
Mmmm... So... "Blind Date from Hell" was a bit disappointing. I didn't like it much. It wasn't BAD. But not even GOOD. 2.25 stars
"Dance with the Devil" I actually liked and enjoyed. It was a good, fun and really hot read. 3.25 stasrs
"Hal and Damnation" didn't have a really good start, but got better after a while. I didn't enjoy it as much as "Dance with the Devil" though. 2.75 stars

Heather's Notes This story was cute and very short. I would have liked a longer story and definitely an epilogue.
I don't read many romance novels though on occasion I enjoy the ones I do choose to read. My favourite of the three stories was the first in the collection though I did enjoy the other two as well. Passing this on to a friend who requested it from me.
I DNFed it at 50%. I couldn't get into it. It made no sense to me. It was all over the place. Cherry Adair can be hit or miss with me, and this one is definitely a miss.
