Grace

Adam Brogen could use a little domestic help, so he hires Grace to clean his cabin and provide an evening meal a few days a week while he’s away at work. After all, he’s building a woodworking business, or trying to. He has a good heart, at least that’s what the two older, widowed sisters tell him. The Tart sisters are a little too busy trying to make matches with folks around town, but they mean well. They tell Adam he would be a great help if they could hire him to move their most treasured heirloom in the new covered wagon they recently purchased. They’re moving to a new town where they’re opening a tea shop. The town, however, is several weeks away by wagon.

Grace’s best friend’s dying wish was that Grace would raise her toddler, Emma. After losing her job, Grace needs to find a way to provide for herself and little Emma. Adam Brogen is often gruff and grumpy, but he does kind things for the Tart sisters—and much to Grace’s relief, he hires her to clean and cook for him. One night, Grace is forced to take refuge overnight in his cabin during a sudden storm, and now, her reputation is in tatters.

Adam is concerned for Grace and young Emma after a few men from town talk about Grace and how they’d like to take advantage of her. Adam feels partly responsible for the way the townsfolk have turned on her. To protect her and Emma, Adam and Grace marry before they leave with the Tart sisters on the covered wagon journey.

While theirs is strictly a marriage of convenience, only one of them falling in love becomes most inconvenient. Can Adam convince Grace to let him into her heart after he assured her he wanted nothing of a marriage, except to provide his name and protection to her and Emma?

Grace is a Christian marriage of convenience, pioneer romance set in the western frontier and is part of the multi-author Prairie Rose Collection. All books in the series are stand-alone stories and can be read in any order.

Grace is a wonderfully heartwarming story of how a young woman who has to take over raising Emma, her friend's 3 year old daughter, when she died in birth with her second child. Bringing Emma to work caused Grace to lose her job and room she had. When the ladies at the tea room tells her about cleaning a cabin of a man while he was at work and they would watch Emma, Grace jumps at it. But when there is a dangerous thunderstorm that will not let up, the man arrives before she can get out. Adam tells her she can't leave it is to dangerous. They decide to slip into town before sunrise the next morning. Everything is working as planned until the banker's wife decides to follow him in to work at daylight and she sees them together. The woman is a big gossip and by lunch everyone in town has heard Grace is a soiled woman. Her reputation is all she said she had besides Emma. But, Adam asks her for a marriage of convenience, due to his demons following him, and they can go with him and the tea room ladies to Oak Blossom to open another tea room. It is a long hard trip and Emma is hoping her faith in God rubs off on Adam.

This is a book everyone that loves a marriage of convenience, or a wagon trail story will enjoy. Get your tissues ready and get ready for a page turner. This is a 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 story!

Grace has had her share of battles lately. Her best friend has died leaving behind your young daughter. She takes in the girl and promptly loses her job due to not having anyone to care for the child. Then her reputation is damages on top of it all. What to do.
Adam has had a battle or two himself, one being his battle with believing in God. Can Grace trust a man that struggles with God to protect her and Emma?
A new town, a marriage of convenience, a long and sometimes treacherous trip by wagon with two older women, a new husband and a child who has seen life's greatest tragedy in losing her mother. How will Grace and Adam come to terms with their life now? The characters are magnificent and the story so touching. You will be swept in and love every minute!

Good story
This is my voluntary review of a copy I received from the author.

Adam figures his decision to wait out the storm cost Grace her reputation so it was up to him to repair it... by marrying her and taking her with him on his journey with the Tart sisters.

They don't know each other at all and each learns a lot about the other on the rough journey. Including, and most importantly, how to be a family with God at its center.

It's a well written story with realistic characters and situations.

Very enjoyable way to pass time.

Sweet story of Grace, a young woman facing trial after trial and facing each head-on. She meets a man who has been letting the past keep him from fully leading his life, and they are thrown together on a hard journey of several weeks in a wagon with the teacup ladies. Loved watching everyone as they matured through their hardships and grew in their dependance on God. Inspirational and not preachy, with a bit of humor, giving a look into their lives and reasoning. Favorite line is “LORD, you sent an angel to bring a washboard?”

Received an ARC and this is my honest review.

This clean, Christian novella set in California in 1862 is a lovely tale of loss, redemption, friendship, a marriage of convenience and love thrown in.

This was a short read but had so many events and emotions packed in keeping the reader engaged. God was very evident throughout and His hand could be traced through the events that transpired.

Enjoyable with a beautiful ending - recommended!

Received this from the author as an Advanced Reader Copy and this is my own opinion given voluntarily.

Adam and Grace

I enjoyed reading as Adam and Grace came to know each other and eventually grow in love. Adam is a wonderful main character. He is caring and supportive and always a gentleman. He is so unselfish and willing to do most anything to help. It was great when he finally let his guard down. I also impressed with Grace. She was also loving and supportive and caring. The characters are well defined and easy to care about. The story flows smoothly with the day to day journey and also with the exciting adventures along the way.

Grace is a Christian, heartwarming, inspirational romance. Grace, Emma, Adam and the Tate sisters make a long trek to a new town. I love these characters. The Tate sisters are warm, supportive meddlers who created a family where none had existed. Grace relied on her faith when she assumed responsibility for Emma. Adam thought he had lost his faith so it was enlightening watching him return to faith. I was swept into this world from the beginning of the book and was sad to say goodbye when I reached the end.

I enjoyed reading Grace. Author Kaitlene Dee created very likeable characters with Grace and Adam. The sisters Violet and Myrtle provide wisdom, guidance, and a little matchmaking for the couple. Little Emma will tug at your heart. The first page grabbed my attention and my emotions. Reading about the wagon journey was very interesting and watching the couple go from a marriage of convenience to romance was delightful.
I received a complimentary copy and am sharing my opinion of this well-written book.

The romance is beautifully written, pulling the emotions of the reader and leaving them with hopes of true love. An entertaining journey on the dusty trail that only leaves room for a heart-gripping tale!

Loved this sweet story with Adam and Grace who end up spending a night together due to weather and to save her reputation he marries her. Grace is raising her friends young daughter Emma and when Adam agrees to take the Tart Sister to another town by covered wagon the rough trip brings them together as they endure the hardship of the trip but as they rely on each other and God's guidance they make the trip safely and with their relationship intact.

nice and sweet

Kaitlene Dee wrote this very nice and sweet romance. It is about Adam and Grace. Adam had a love at one time she told he would be a no buddy. Grace’s best friend died while trying to give birth. Grace was asked to take care of her three old daughter. Grace lost her job and is forced to take another job. While working she is accused of having no morels. So she marries. A marriage of convenience is all.
A very enjoyable read.

This was such an outstanding book. I enjoyed learning about the characters and loved watching the main characters both grow in faith and love. The details were terrific and put me right there in the story. I saw the beauty, experienced the pain, felt the doubt, was frightened, and was overwhelmed with joy. This love story really warmed my heart. I received an ARC of this book and all opinions are my own. I'm super excited to read more by this author and even more from this series.

I really enjoyed reading this story. Grace has a lot on her plate with her raising a 3 year old, having to marry Adam, and moving with the Tart sisters. There is a nice flow to the story; it just keeps moving along. The begnning of the story draws me in right away with what is happening and keeps me interested in finding out what happens next. This is able to read as a stand alone just fine or can be part of the series too.

This is one of the sweetest stories I have ever read! Each character evokes a unique emotion, from the Tart Sisters to Grace to Emma to Adam. It’s so inspiring to see God’s hand at work even in the most challenging and dire circumstances as faith is strengthened and hearts learn to trust. Settle in your favorite chair with your favorite beverage and enjoy this wonderful book!

Sweet, clean, Christian romance

I loved this sweet story. Adam and Grace went through so much and trusted in God to guide them, although Adam fought that guidance at first. Emma, Violet, and Myrtle were wonderful characters who helped make the story sogreat. I loved how the author included scripture references. I look forward to reading more by this author.

When Grace's reputation is ruined by town gossip, Adam steps in to offer a solution of convenience. He'd like a wife to help him around the house and she needs a husband to stave off untruths. But can she be happy in a loveless marriage? What will it take for Adam to see Grace as a wife as well as a helpmeet?

I enjoyed the book! Adam and Grace married to protect her reputation. Adam had to come to terms with his past before the marriage could become more than a marriage of convenience. Emma (Grace’s best friend’s toddler) was adorable. I recommend reading this book!

This story will capture you and entice you into their world from the first page and you won’t want to close it until the story is finished.
This author graciously but gently incorporates Christian faith and relying upon God and His love in our lives. One of the main characters had hardened his heart to God but soon learns how to have faith and how to listen for Gods voice again. The other knows without Him she is and can do nothing.
Add in a few other town folks, and a trip in a covered wagon. This is a joy to read! It will leave you with a smile on your face and your heart happy
