Pryse found a wealth of hidden meaning in the sublime drama of Aischylos. He wrote his own metrical translation, which is presented in the first part of the book. The second part of the book is Pryse’s interpretation, “the spiritual meaning thereof being explained, detail by detail, in a commentary upon a literal prose translation, preceded by an exploration of Greek Mythology and mystical astronomy, which are subjects inseparable from the myth of Prometheus.”
James Morgan Pryse (Jr.) was an author and publisher, having operated for the Theosophical Society first the Aryan Press in New York and later the H.P.B. Press in London and the end of the 19th century.
