He came to her in a dream. He foretold to her of a husband. She would travel over a thousand years back through time to be claimed by a notorious Viking warrior. The warrior would give her pleasure she'd never dreamed possible. He would claim her. Brand her. Possess her. She could never leave him... But then again, whoever said she wanted to?
Kieran the Black By Julia Templeton
If you hold his sword in your hands and place the point of the blade in Kieran's crest, you will experience life like you have never known it.
When the frizzy-headed crone took thirty-nine-year-old Lizzie Johnston's hands and wrapped them around the sword, she felt a little weird. That's nothing compared to what she feels when she wakes up in the body of eighteen-year-old Saxon, Lady Elizabeth of Aedelmaer in the year 1067, wedded to the infamous Norman knight, Kieran the Black.
Kieran's six and a half feet tall, black-haired, with the bluest eyes Lizzie's ever seen and built like a brick you-know-what. Lizzie's head over heels and determined to get tall, dark and dangerous into bed and win his heart, despite the old Elizabeth's avowed distaste for him. But first she has to save his life¦

I have never read anything by Julia Templeton, so I was curious to see what I would think about her contribution to this two author anthology. I knew I would probably like the story written by Jaid Black, so I figured I would give this book a shot. I am very glad I did. Both stories are so HOTTTTT and the men...well what's NOT sexy and irresistable about them??? Kieran The Black by Julia Templeton Lizzie Johnson is existing. At thirty-nine years old she finds herself alone and just going through the motions of everyday life. She becomes quite fasinated by a infamous Norman Knight known as Kieran the Black. So she jumps at the chance to go to an exhibit that displays his weapons and other artifacts. When she is approached by an old lady with the proposition that she can touch and handle his sword, she jumps at the chance. The next thing she knows she is in a strange bed, and in a strange body hundreds of years earlier. She soon discovers that she was kidnapped by Kieran (or at least the other occupant in her new body was) and is now married to him against her will. She decides that this is her chance to find what she has been wishing and looking for. She has wanted True Love by a strong, handsome man, so sets out to seduce him and get him to love her. Kieran can't believe his luck. His young wife is suddenly more attractive and well just...different. Should he dare think she is being flirtatious and interested in him?? Delighted by this wonderful change in her, he is immediately drawn to her intelligence, sweetness and her bold displays of affection. Whew...Kieran and Lizzie was my favorite story in this book. Lizzie is smart and does what she can to get and protect her man. Kieran didn't know what hit him! I loved it! Plus, I'll never eat another apple pie again without blushing (you draw your own conclusions here)
God Of Fire By Jaid Black
Dara Sabine is having the most erotic dream. She dreams of a fire breather that is teasing her with his body, and predicts that her life as she knows it is about to change. When she awakes she shrugs it off, and goes about her life. When she suddenly is transported a thousand years back and is staring into the eyes of a Viking warrior, (she calls him Grizzy Adams at first...I thought that was funny...wait did that just age me??? LOL) She realises life as she knows it is over. Will she make the best of it or try to find her way back? Ragnar has never met a more annoying woman. She screams like a banshee and talks more than he is used to. Even though, she drives him crazy with her banter and quick wit, he can not help but become fasinated by this strange woman, whose mannerisms and style of communicating confuses and well turns him on. I really liked this story too. It is funny, and sexy and was a lot of fun to read!
If you are offended by explict sexual situtations, and strong language this book is not for you.
Nice escape for one story (4 stars). Only ok for second story (3 stars).
4 stars for GOD OF FIRE by Jaid Black. Fun and enjoyable. This was one of the first stories Jaid wrote and is a little less explicit than her later works. The gods are being mischievous among themselves. They bring Dara from the future 2003 to Ragnar, a Viking in 820 AD. He needs to get her pregnant within 3 months to meet the gods' requests. It was a nice escape for romance and sex.
Data: Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: sixteen. Setting 2003 Ohio US and 820 AD Norway. Copyright: 2000. Genre: time travel fantasy romance.
Other Books: For a list of my reviews of other Jaid Black books, see my 5 star review of “One Dark Night” posted 4/2/08.
3 stars for KIERAN THE BLACK by Julia Templeton. Ok story, but it was lacking in emotional fulfillment for me. There were a lot of sex scenes, but they were pretty similar to each other. I like erotic stories but I prefer those which have something else like laughter, surprise, witty conversation, anticipation of an emotional relationship or feelings of fulfillment. This story was missing something for me.
Story Brief: Current day Lizzie time travels to 1067 where she finds herself as the wife of Kieran the Black. The wife she replaced hated him and was still a virgin. She flirts with Kieran and his knights. She initiates sex with him. They have a great relationship. She tries to prevent his early death by warning him that he will be killed by his own knight Hugh.
Data: Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: twelve. Setting: current day and 1067 England. Copyright: 2003. Genre: erotic time travel romance.
I Love both stories as well as gravitated to both. Each story is great in the aspect of time travel romance. Jaid Black's story she travels in the past and is greeted by a Sexy Viking and Vikings are always a good read. Julia Templeton's story all it took was a sword and she time travel after going on a tour and listening to the stories of Kieran. When she meets Kieran she is unable to resist him.

Two stories in this anthology - God of Fire By Jaid Black and Kieran the Black By Julia Templeton.
They were okay but not enough to warrant anything higher than 3 stars from me. I think I preferred the story by Jaid Black over the one by Julia Templeton. Definitely on the hot and spicy side.
Two erotic time travel stories. Julie Templeton's story about Lizzie going to 1067 as Baron Kieran's wife started good enough but got repetitive. Jaid Black's story about Dara going to 820 to be Viking Ragar's wife was enjoyable but at one point got too chauvinistic.
PSA: THE HYMEN IS NOT A BARRIER THAT COVERS THE VAGINAL OPENING. IT IS NOT BROKEN AT THE LOSS OF VIRGINITY. AN INTACT HYMEN WOULD BE INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT WOULD PREVENT THE LOSS OF MENSTRUAL BLOOD.
