After leaving school she developed her passion for English and Drama by studying film and became "hell bent on becoming a film director". After discovering that she was better at writing stories, however, Amber studied journalism part-time while working for an advertising agency, and later joined Marie Claire magazine as a features and fashion writer and book reviewer.
Swapping the shores of the Africa for London, Amber was able to look with new eyes at the challenges and pressures facing today's youth - especially teens. In London she joined an independent film production company, with the idea of creating a television programme aimed at helping teens tackle the tricky issues with which they are faced.
When the television programme was shelved, Amber decided to put her research and ideas into a novel. Ella Mental and the Good Sense Guide is the story that followed.
After fourteen months living in Grenada in the West Indies, Amber and her husband, Craig, have returned to the UK and now live on a farm in Kent with the rescue animals they brought back from the West Indies: a Doberman called Blue and Calypso, their tabby cat.

In this follow-up to ELLA MENTAL: AND THE GOOD SENSE GUIDE, Ella and Toby have confessed their love for each other, and now Ella's certain they'll spend all their time together. Just when she has everything figured out, her dad drops a bomb on her and her twin sister, Anna.
He demands that each of them find a job within a week.
Anna takes up modeling. She and her mother start spending more time together, shopping for proper outfits and going to photo shoots, while Ella feels left out and under appreciated.
Ella spends her time trying to hang out with her friends and her boyfriend. However, cuddling with Toby makes their friends uncomfortable.
Can Ella find a way to balance out her life?

September 26, 2007Okay, I own this, and I've read the ending... but I was like, "Say, huh?" Someone dies, but it must be a new character, because I don't remember the person from the first book...... Of course, I DO have a HORRID memory.....

This book didn't really convey too much for me. The romance was bland and I really didn't feel much for it. Kind of a boring book.

I kind of got bored with this one :/ But it was funny. Teehehe. I feel sorry for Tin Man though. I always thought that Ella would save him before he killed himself.

This book was pretty good but I would really like if there was more romance between Ella and Toby.
