The first in this series “Get a Life” ends with plans to hold a carwash as one fund-raiser attempt at purchasing a bus for the youngsters in the volunteer group Peter heads up.
“Reality Check” the 2nd in the series begins with that car wash event.
Peter discovers that he’s really crazy about his best friend Jenna and plans to tell her of this revelation. Jenna is distracted after witnessing her crush Jesse and Leah kissing.
Melanie is chagrined to hear of the rumor pegging her and Jesse as an item especially after the school knows that he was making out with Nicole at a recent party. Nicole heard first hand from Jesse that the kissing was nothing and he’s not interested in her. He was drunk, was his excuse. To say she’s devastated is putting it mildly and now she’s faced with the embarrassment in front of her peers.
This author has people pegged. Pegged in the interactions between squabbling siblings. Oooh, the meanness! Pegged in the response of their parents. And pegged in interactions between fellow students.
I hate that it ended on a cliff hanger. I want to read the next book in the series so badly. I really love the characters in this series. It's a great book.
