A great little introductory book to Graffiti and how it has evolved into what is now known as "street art." There are some useful techniques, color theory, and introduction to different styles. Can't wait to explore this topic more, but this was a good place to start!
Astek. This is a nice glossy book with lots of colour and an introduction to graffiti, a term which is collectively used for a large variety of rolled and sprayed pieces from around the world. However, it carefully glosses over the fact that all this painting of public property is vandalism and not generally accepted, no matter the acclaim the artist receives from the avant-garde crowd and the welcome from certain museums. The book encourages this deviant behaviour while claiming that it's all an art form and a valid means of expression. I'll accept that argument, and I admire the work that goes into perfecting the craft. Yet, I cannot accept the vandalism that is hidden in finding a blank wall.
