Ryuhei Ohno has just entered a high school where 90% of the student population is rumored to be gay. However, a couple of the students in Ryuhei’s class haven’t heard the rumors surrounding the school. Kunihisa Imaizumi is cute, adorable and homo-phobic. Unable to deal with the increasingly bold advances of his classmates, he appoints Ryuhei as his “knight in shining armor” to keep his suitors at bay. Ryuhei is more than happy to protect Kunihisa’s innocence at first, but even Ryuhei finds himself falling for Kunihisa. Who is going to protect our “poor maiden” from his knight?!

This was a bit confusing in the beginning, because it tied in with a side story of Ordinary Crush and it took me a while to understand who the main characters were supposed to be. But once I got that, this was lovely as all of Hyouta Fujiyama's work.

I tend to get pretty emotionally involved when reading things like that, but she does "unrequited" love (that may or may not stay like that) like few others. Some of the pacing in this story was a bit odd, but made sense because of the characters, and it has a really sweet first sex scene. Seriously, their faces were so adorable <3 <3 <3

One of the many things I love about Hyouta Fujiyama's work is that her semes and ukes don't act like "typical" semes and uke. Seriously, the simple fact that Ohno refuses to force Imaizumi to *kiss* him says it all.

And I have to say, while the idea of Kinsei High is a bit ridiculous, the resulting stories aren't.

I liked the older couple, Aikawa and Furuya, but their story was really short and we didnt read a lot about them. The younger couple, Ohno and Imaizumi, are cute and sweet and they finally get together, after Ohno had been in love with Aikawa(nothing happened btw them, bcs Aikawa rejected him), but we dont see much action. The couple that really interested me, was the one we saw less, the student council president Kozue(Fumiaki)and his sex friend Leiji. They are not really sex friends but they are in love, and we see it in the end, and i liked them a lot, is a pity we didnt have them as main chars. The only thing that made me sad, was the poor Noze in love with Fumiaki, and all the time he has to see him with his lover.

really cute yaoi manga that was (to my relief) a bit more heavy on the dialogue and light on the sex scenes (actually there weren't any in Sunflower 1). Sometimes, I really like to read a manga that actually has some plot :) It weaved the Ordinary Crush characters into the beginning of the story, so I didn't get lost (IMHO). I'll have to search for Sunflower 2 soon!! I can't wait to read what happens between Ohno & Imaizumi :D

I found this one just "OK". Not outstanding, not a whole lot of fun, but also not necessarily horrible. I think my problem is that I just don't really enjoy Yaoi as much as I used to, and find them a bit too formulaic (like they are following Harlequin's business model).
