Повернення до пригод Ракети і Ґрута з сином відбулося вдало, хоча й не без суму. Вже після першого коміксу ми обоє полюбили цю вибухову парочку, тож коли вийшов другий том, знову сіли разом на диван, відкрили першу сторінку, і розпочалася чергова пригода.
У цьому коміксі Ракета й Ґрут, як завжди, не можуть просто спокійно поїсти піцу — варто Ракеті зробити один укус, як надходить тривожне повідомлення: Зоряного Лорда викрали! Не встигли вони переварити цю новину (чи бодай шматочок піци), як кидаються на пошуки. Спершу до Ґамори, але та саме з’ясовує стосунки з Таносом. Далі — ще глибше в безумство галактичних сутичок, небезпечних супротивників і несподіваних зустрічей. Усе — заради друга. Бо навіть якби весь Всесвіт став на заваді, Ракета й Ґрут не зупиняться.
Це було неймовірно весело. Сину особливо сподобалися сцени, де Ґрут влаштовує справжні дерев’яні баталії. І кожного разу, як звучало «Я є Ґрут», він сміявся, ніби вперше. Мені ж сподобалося, як вправно Аманда Дейберт передала динаміку персонажів — з гумором, але з душею. А ще — як гарно балансувала сюжет: трохи серйозності, трохи божевілля, і море веселощів.
Герої — як завжди, на рівні. Ракета з його нескінченними жартами, планами, що йдуть шкереберть, і запальною вдачею. Ґрут — тихий, але незамінний. Його «Я є Ґрут» у цій історії має стільки відтінків, що син уже вивчив інтонації: "О, це точно сердитий Ґрут! А це веселий Ґрут. А це точно задумливий Ґрут." А ще — поява інших Вартових й ворогів додало колориту.
Малюнок Кема Кендала — яскравий, стильний, веселий. Син сказав, що «це точно той самий малюнок, що й у першому коміксі», і це для нього великий плюс. Мені теж до вподоби, тому що тут далі говорити.
У підсумку — «Ракета і Ґрут: Полювання на Зоряного Лорда» — це чудове продовження першого тому. Ідеальне для спільного читання, для вечора, коли хочеться сміятись і зануритися в пригоди. Серія із двох коміксів подарувала справжню радість: як дорослому фанату космічних пригод, так і маленькому шанувальнику Ґрута.
Але… коли ми дочитали останню сторінку, син запитав: «А буде третя частина?» І коли я пояснив, що її немає і, мабуть, не буде — він тільки зітхнув: «Я є сумний Ґрут…».

Existem quadrinhos infantis que são muito melhores que coisas feitas para adultos, mas tem aqueles que subestimam as crianças, ou um leitor adulto ocasional, e trazem trama para um nível inferior. É o caso dessa graphic novel dos Guardiões da Galáxia, desenvolvido pela editora Scholastic para a Marvel. Não me agradou nem a trama e nem os desenhos. Talvez vá agradar a uma criança que esteja começando a aprender a ler, ainda no ensino básico, mas comparado com outras graphic novels da Marvel pela Scholastic, como as de Wakanda, da Miss Marvel, ou de Miles Morales, essa fica muuito aquém da qualidade das outras, tanto em roteiro como em desenhos. A proposta é colocar Groot e Rocky procurando pelo Senhor das Estrelas e, em cada capítulo, aprontarem confusões encontrando outros membros dos Guardiões. Mas esses confusões são tão bobas que não empolgam ninguém e não dão vontade de rir, ao menos. Uma pena, poderia ter rendido bem mais.

I hope they keep making more of this series. My 6yo is obsessed with superheroes, and specifically Guardians of the Galaxy. Though this book is at a higher reading level than he is, he loved reading all the “I am Groot” lines with different expressions based on the circumstances. Fun buddy adventure with two of his favorite characters.

Very fun story featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy! Very funny (especially for the little ones), well illustrated, and the characters all have the personality that the comics and movies brought them. At 5 chapters, it serves as a week-ish long bed time story. I highly recommend!
(Tip, have your child "play" as Groot. It made my daughter follow along with the word bubbles and pay attention to the whole story!)

the Guardians are one of my fave Marvel gangs and to see them all come together to save Star Lord in this graphic novel made my heart happy. This made me chuckle… and ofc there’s a SLIGHT misunderstanding! Technology, battles and space travelling! Really enjoyed this!

A couple of years ago, writer and director James Gunn was removed from completing his Guardians of the Galaxy movie trilogy because of some past inappropriate posts and Halloween costumes. True, he did return after the cast and crew supported him, underwent therapy and made some apologies. However, if things had gone differently, I think I would have been able to make a great argument for who could have at least replaced Gunn as script writer for Guardians Vol. 3!
Rocket and Groot: The Hunt for Star-Lord sees the rascally duo get an alert that their cocky leader has been kidnapped and held for ransom. As Rocket and Groot follow the leads for the whereabouts of the missing Peter Quill, they reunite with their other Guardian teammates who join the search. Along the way, some iconic Guardians baddies along with a surprise villain or two will learn that nothing comes between a Guardian of the Galaxy and their search for their best friend. Except maybe for a bounty offering the promise of some much needed credits.
This 2023 chapter graphic novel from Scholastic was written by veteran comic writer Amanda Deibert. The author captured the quirks and voices of every character in this book perfectly. This story really felt like a never before told segment of the Guardians of the Galaxy cinematic trilogy. If Marvel decides to make a 4th Guardians film, this is who should write the script! And with a follow up adventure seeing Rocket and Groot trapped in with a mysterious stranger in a spooky forest, due to come out in September, I've already got a book on my Halloween to-read list!
The book is illustrated by cartoonist Cam Kendall, who is more well known for his work on board games. I liked his art style. I was also fooled by it. Kendall's style looks a lot like the work Skottie Young did on his 2014-15 Rocket Raccoon miniseries. I liked that work and I loved this one.
The Hunt for Star-Lord is a fun-filled romp similar in many ways to the mad cap antics of Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry and Scooby-Doo. There's fighting and laser weapons a plenty. A few threatening use of sharp objects. And an appearance by a Marvel UK character that in its 90s era heyday was considered 10 times more violent than Wolverine or the Punisher. COMBINED! Here, the character (of whose identity I dare not spoil), is more buffoonish than deadly. But he's still a little intimidating in appearance.
I did fear that when the Guardians arrived on planet Earth in their search for Star-Lord, that things were going to get a little preachy. Groot sees a lumberjack making timber out of his brethren and rightfully becomes incensed. That was all fine. It was the addition of the eco-protesters in the scene that could have made the scene become fodder for a bad ABC Afterschool Special. But Amanda Deibert keeps things balanced with quirky humor while also presenting a positive message of not wasting our precious resources for no reason at all.
Recommended by Amazon for readers ages 6-8. However I think those up to age 12 could really get a kick out of this graphic novel. The author and illustrator did fantastic jobs! Oh boy! How I can't wait for October to get here!

El cómic está padre, me gustaron mucho las ilustraciones. No es un gran trabajo en sí mismo, pero tampoco pretende serlo. Únicamente es un cómic para pasar el rato y disfrutar de una mini aventura de los Guardianes de la Galaxia y, en específico, de Rocket y Groot, como su título bien lo menciona.
El final está muy simpático, y me dio un poco de tristeza que en una hojeada accidental me aventé un spoiler que me arruinó una parte de éste, pero aun así lo disfruté.
Este cómic tiene un peso sentimental especial para mí. Mi papá y yo fuimos a inicios de enero de 2024 a una tienda de cómics para comprarle su regalo de cumpleaños a mi hermano, y en esa tienda mi papá avistó este cómic (él era mega fan de los guardianes de la galaxia y, específicamente, le encantaba Rocket). Al inicio, mi papá no quería comprárselo aunque el cómic estaba muy barato, pero lo convencí de llevárselo diciéndole que se diera el gusto, y que disfrutara de una tarde con sus personajes favoritos. Finalmente, mi papá accedió con una cara de niño que nunca en mi vida olvidaré.
Pasaron los meses, y mi papá no lo leía, supongo que porque nunca encontró el momento adecuado. Era un hombre que siempre buscaba ese momento perfecto jajaja.
Lamentablemente, durante ese maldito maldito 2024, mi papá se muso muy malo de su salud. La primera vez que lo hospitalizaron, cuando despertó, entre las cosas que le llevamos, yo, quizá... tontamente, le llevé el cómic entre sus cosas, diciéndole que sus personajes lo podían acompañar durante su recuperación.
Tiempo después, cuando mi papá salió de su primera estadía en el hospital, ya no recuerdo muy bien, la verdad, pero creo que me dijo alguna vez que en realidad no le dio tiempo de leerlo. Yo creo que no quería leer ese cómic en un ambiente tan hostil.
Y, bueno. A inicios de septiembre, mi papá regresó al hospital, un día como cualquier otro, donde se levantó para irse a trabajar. Y desde ese maldito día, mi papá ya no volvió a despertar. Tiempo después falleció.
Y... hace poco tiempo, cuando estábamos gestionando sus cosas personales, encontramos este cómic en su cuarto. No sé bien por qué, pero casi instintivamente, lo reclamé para mí. A fin de cuentas, fui yo quien lo convenció de comprárselo.
Nunca sabré realmente si mi papá lo leyó alguna vez o no. Pero, en cualquier caso, decidí que yo lo haría por él. Y aquí estoy, escribiendo esta reseña con lágrimas en los ojos, coraje en el corazón, y un sentimiento extraño de un deber cumplido que realmente nunca se me impuso.
Solamente... Ya está papá. Si no alcanzaste a leerlo, ya lo leí por los dos. Y, efectivamente, me reí y disfruté leyéndolo. Te recordé y te sentí conmigo a cada página. Me gusta creer que te llevaste contigo una copia de seguridad de todas tus cosas al cielo, y que, chance ahora más calmado, encuentres el momento perfecto para leer tu cómic.
Al menos acá, de este lado, y en tu casa, alguien lo leyó y te sintió a cada momento. Y creo que eso es lo que a ti te hubiera gustado, que te recordáramos en las pequeñas y las grandes cosas.

Rocket and Groot's pizza comparison quest is interrupted when they get an alert that Star-Lord has been captured. They set off to rescue him, but there's just a tiny little problem...they don't know where he is. So they see if some of the other Guardians know where to find Star-Lord and set off on one wild and zany rescue.
This was a very funny adventure with Rocket, Groot, Gamora, and Drax (and eventually Star-Lord). This is much cleaner than the adult Guardian comics or movies but I'd still say it is aimed at middle school (and YA will snatch it up too) since they jokingly call each other names and you laugh at some potentially dangerous situations and some things would be over the heads of Elementary readers. The ending adds extra humor and an 'only Rocket and Groot would get in such a situation' moment. Hand this to middle & high school humor/superhero fans and watch them laugh for a few minutes.
Notes on content:
Language: Some mild name calling (like Thanos calls Rocket a mongoose knowing it will set him off). No swearing.
Sexual content: None
Violence: There are some battles but no one is really hurt.
Ethnic diversity: Mostly alien characters with a few humans of various skin colors.

In Rocket & Groot: Auf der Suche nach Star-Lord erhält das fesche Duo die Nachricht, dass ihr großspuriger Anführer entführt wurde und ein Lösegeld gefordert wird. Während Rocket und Groot den Hinweisen auf den Verbleib des verschollenen Peter Quill nachgehen, treffen sie auf andere Guardians-Kollegen, die sich der Suche anschließen. Auf dem Weg dorthin tauchen natürlich einige bekannte Guardians-Bösewichte sowie der ein oder andere Überraschungsgast auf. Unsere Helden kann nichts aufhalten, um Star-Lord zu retten, außer vielleicht ein Kopfgeld, das ein paar dringend benötigte Credits verspricht.
Die Autorin hat die Eigenheiten und Charaktere aller Figuren in diesem Comic perfekt eingefangen und vermittelt mit ihnen gleichzeitig eine positive Botschaft, dass wir unsere wertvollen Ressourcen auf der Erde nicht grundlos verschwenden sollten. I really enjoyed this short read.
The graphics are very simple since it is a junior books, but the humour and characters are portrayed well. I loved seeing these characters in a graphic form, I want to read them all!
I found the storyline wasn't too bad either. Not complicated but it just had more interest.

I found the storyline wasn't too bad either. Not complicated but it just had more interest.

Es cun comic muy divertido si eres fan de Marvel y los guardianes de la galaxia, aparte con un gran plot Twist al final, ame.
