This compact version of Barron's comprehensive GRE test preparation manual presents an up-to-date overview of the exam, answers students' commonly asked questions, and explains what they need to know about the computer-adaptive GRE. The book presents review and exercises covering the GRE's verbal ability and analytical writing questions, and offers a GRE high-frequency word list for vocabulary building. A math review covers facts and formulas, general math tactics, discrete quantitative questions, quantitative comparison questions, and data interpretation questions. The book concludes with three model tests with answer keys and answer explanations.
I loved the way the book was laid out, however I found some mathematical errors (and I'm no genius) and this book has gone through way too many editions to have any errors. Otherwise, the book explained problems better than the Dummies series.
I was really excited to find a novel-sized GRE study guide... until I started reading the answer explanations. It suggests doing most things the hard way. I definitely wouldn't suggest this for anyone looking for anything beyond the most basic "cheat sheets."
Arg. Pretty good considering what you have to do - the tips given are helpful and easy to read when you are reading them in the car before the actual test
