At a display of old artifacts, Blossom plays around with a puzzle cube and accidentally sets it up to suck up Tiddlywink the pixie and trap him inside. While Tiddlywink can be annoying, the heroes feel bad that he's stuck in there (especially Blossom) and decide to venture off to the Distant Desert where they can hopefully find a way to free him.

Another quirky, funny, and imaginative adventure with the Super Happy Magic Forest questing gang. I like the desert setting which allows Long to do plays on both old West desert survival bits, Arabian myths, and ancient Egyptian discoveries. The game show that all the questers have to play for part of their mission is full of humor for the adults reading this with kids as it drops nods to classic gameshows. For a while Blossom doesn't want to admit that he's the one who messed with the cube, and he learns an important lesson about honesty, forgiveness, and the resiliency of friendships with others who really love you. I also like how the questers support and help each other, and even care for the hard to care for Tiddlywinks. I also appreciated the imaginativeness of the story. The questers meet some interesting mythical and fantastic creatures that don't often get to grace the pages of kids lit (friendly sand monster anyone? or sentient pro-wrestler cacti?). Overall, another fun quest adventure with our favorite Super Happy Magic Forest residents.

Notes on content:
Language: Tiddlywinks calls them some non-swear names.
Sexual content: None. Tiddlywinks gets really hot at one point and strips down to his tighty-whiteys.
Violence: There are some perilous situations, but the worst injury are some cacti pricks. There are some coffins at one point and someone tells them almost all are full of bodies, but it turns out
Ethnic diversity: Not really applicable.
LGBTQ+ content: None mentioned
Other: There's a flaming skull that is the gameshow host. He seems more goofy and funny to me than scary, but know the kid you hand this to and how they will view it.
