I'm so confused

Wasn't expecting to read about some santas being shot amid christmas season frustration. Lilith was hot, especially during the sexual byplay. You'll be fine after you get through the shooting intro. Always weird reading a book where one of the main characters has the same name as an ex, and they want to name their unborn child in your name. A small amount of sexual entitled here.

Favourite quotes:
- “Smells like domestication to me,” James smirks before he moves a Lego plane from under his ass. (Lol)
- These are the moments I live for, the torture of the waiting. The torture of making myself wait for something I crave so deeply my body shakes with need.
- Vulnerability. It’s not soft, nor weak. Like him, it’s alluringly deceptive. Dangerous. A sharp-edged blade that will cut if not handled carefully.
- And then his lips are upon me. Fingers tightening in my hair, my scalp stings as he pulls me even closer. His mouth devouring me as he holds me in place.
- His eyes burn into me and I swear I can feel the heat searing into my flesh.

This is five short stories revolving around the characters in the Disciples series:

These are very short stories but quite funny and definitely worth reading as a bonus if you're missing your favourite characters. Chronologically, each story falls in a different place between the books published so far, but it's quite easy to figure out where they should be.
They expand what we know about Garden City and the life of the Family - the first three giving a glimpse into the life of Matthew and Andrew after we have read their stories while The Bad Man is a bit of a teaser for the upcoming story about James and Sophia.
And Promise? Well, maybe in due time, when our boys retire and the new generation they are so eagerly creating right now takes over, maybe then we will read about Adam and Abigail..

I liked that we got context of things briefly mentioned in the main books but some of this felt ehhhhh. I personally don’t love anytime weird possessiveness comes up with Adam and Abigail. I get that he’s very similar to Lucifer but they just feel to young for this dynamic to start. I could get more behind it if they were teenagers and not literal children

The storyline was great and interesting, it reviewed the past character’s of this series. I enjoyed reading about James, Simon and Lucifer romantic relationships.

You need to read the Disciples series at least to Trapping Sophia to understand the who’s who and what’s what about these stories.

It was a nice little where are they now for some of the characters in the series and a prologue for others.

Short stories about the Disciples are in here. We get stories about Lucifer , Lily , some of Lucifer's men , and the children. I enjoyed it a lot.
