Young Spike sitting in bed hears an ominous "I'm going to eat you!" which leads him on a fantastic exploration of his house finding the source of the voice. Along the way he meets the bogeyman, a sea serpent, a ghost, and a werewolf. In the end it turns out to be his little sister threatening a cookie, "I'm going to eat you!" The illustrations by Jimmy Pickering make the book a treat, as all the monsters are fantastically drawn ,and the popups are wonderful. A must for any parent or child who likes spooky monsters. Recommended.

Combine the creepy, gooey, sweetness of Halloween with the clever interactivity of a pop-up book and your reaching very close to perfection. This book is awesomely fun. I'm not sure who likes this book better—me or my kids. We've read this one 100s of times...well, it seems like 100s.

My two year old really loves this book. I think it's kind of a fun way to read about monsters under the bed in a way that makes them not seem scary.

Fun storyline and good rhyming. I think it's kind of a fun way to read about monsters under the bed in a way that makes them not seem scary. Great for Halloween or a Monster storytime.

I purchased this book for my son when he was 2 years ago and it is by far the book he has wanted to read the most, still today three years later at age five.
