WOW...talk about HOT, HOT, HOT...who knew the Westmoreland boys were so tempting. This is the first Westmoreland novel I've read and you can bet, I'll be searching for the rest. I couldn't put it down 'til I was done! Tara and Thorn definitely had their hands full with one another, each one fighting the temptation or love for 2 years, I couldn't imagine! I thoroughly enjoyed the teasing of the brothers. The way they wanted to protect Tara's honor, if Thorn only wanted to use her. And just the way the brothers interacted with each other! Well done Mrs. Jackson!
Such a kickass book!! I've been waiting for Thorn and Tara since Delaney's book- and it finally happened. Two years ago when they met, sparks flew. Since then while Tara has been busy being a pediatrician, Thorn is occupied with his biker career. But that doesn't remove the temptation from his periphery. When on Dare's wedding he's issued his ultimate challenge- he- he finally decides to get her out of the system. The book includes smokin chemistry, super duper hot hero and heroine, mild angst and breeding, and a cute HEA. I loved everything about it- and the hero was celibate since meeting the heroine! Safe read 4.75/5
Didn't really like this book. An intelligent independent 27 year old doctor decides to give up her virginity in order to convince a man to pose for a photo shoot. That doctor was previously engaged yet was as pure and inexperienced as Bella in Twilight! It was just unreal. The love scenes felt like a repeat of the same thing. Even the Happily Ever After was so perfect it didn't feel real either.
The narration was just ok. Ms. Vaughn sounded too old for the main character and her male voices need work. I gave her 2 stars because I was able to finish the story at 1.25 the speed of narration.
In the beginning, the story was a little slow-moving but by the middle, Thorn's character was putting the moves on Tara.
I was so glad that Derrick, the guy who dumped Tara at their wedding, in front of the whole town, got to see her with a famous, hot guy like Thorn who treated Tara with the respect she deserved!
OH.EMM.GEE. I can't stress enough how much I loved this book. It was soooooo good that I don't want it to end. I am completely, utterly captivated, and totally sucked in by this story. This book definitely earned its space in my favorite books and re-read bookshelves. Tara and Thorn were such a perfect couple. I absolutely loved them both!
Dr. Tara Matthews hated weddings. But I can't say no to the Westmorelands since they have become the closest thing to a family since her fiance jilted her at the church altar for her best friend two years ago. She had been good friends with Delaney's brothers since then, except with Thorn Westmoreland, the most handsome, sexy, and hot as sin, and probably the moodiest and grouchiest man she'd ever met. She actually did a good job avoiding him until her colleague asked her to convince Thorn to pose for a charity calendar, and Tara didn't have a chance to say no. Dare approached him without revealing how much the kiss they'd shared at Dare's wedding affected her.
Thorn Westmoreland, a daredevil, a risk-taker. And had been mad at the whole world because of one woman. And since then, no woman had been able to invade his space at work, and preparing for the competition with his NO SEX POLICY before races had always gotten his total concentration until he'd met the gorgeous and sexy doctor, Tara Matthew's. Just being around her was pure torture, and it rattled and frightened the hell out of him, and he resented feeling that way, so he avoided her. Until that one time, he couldn't any longer deny his desire, and he thought that kissing her would finally get her out of his system. But he was dead wrong. One taste wasn't enough. He wanted more. And he would take her. Thorn would get the ride of his life. So Thorn came up with a proposal he thought would benefit both of them. For Tara to agree to have one week off for a completely physical and emotionally free affair after his race, and he'll do the calendar thing.
Will Thorn be able to wait until after the race to take Tara to his bed? Or will he finally give up his NO SEX policy before a race and take Tara now to his bed? And will Tara agree, or will she come up with a game plan of her own? There was one thing for sure: Thorn Westmoreland would soon discover that he had finally met his match.
Ohhhh. I adored both of them. They were really perfect for each other. And the story was absolutely perfect. Tara is exactly what Thorn needs. Though she doesn’t know, and neither does he. I loved that there was no insta-anything (well, maybe insta-lust on Thorn's behalf) and no sex right after the introduction. The story gives you a build-up of connection first. But I assure you, the sexual chemistry and tension between them were freaking OFF THE CHARTS! Utterly palpable and well written. And GOSH. THE ANTICIPATION. It was so exciting waiting for Tara and Thorn to hit the bed. And when they finally did. It was so freaking hot. Sizzling. Steamy. Passionate. Tender.
I also loved the secondary characters, especially the Westmoreland brothers. I loved how supportive they were to Thorn as well, not only with Thorn but with each other. And their witty banter and sarcastic remarks were pretty hilarious.
And what I really loved is how realistic the turnaround for Thorn and his feelings was. He told her upfront that he only wanted a meaningless affair, but ultimately, things began to get complicated when he found his feelings taking a drastic turn, and he wanted more than one week from her. Plus his groveling and grand gesture and proposal, WOW! For a man who hated public attention, I'd say that he did a pretty good job at the extent he had gone to in declaring his love in front of the entire town!
An enticing plot! Excellent story-telling! A hero to die for! A compelling heroine!
One of my favorite BJ books. Thorn and Tara were both pretty pig headed when it came to relationships and I loved how they were both fighting a loosing battle. The attraction was just too strong. I also loved BJ's description with the motorcycle scenes. One of them took me back to a time when my hubby and I first started riding. I'd love to read more on Thorn and Tara.
This was my second time reading this book (when it was initially released and now on Kindle). Your basic romance novel were virgin meets boy who doesn't want a commitment. They have sex and both realize they love each other. For some reason I liked the story.
I loved everything about this book. I really loved Tara & Thorn's chemistry & the dialogue between the brothers. This book is worth buying you won't be disappointed.
This book is the #3 Series of the Westmoreland. Thorn Westmoreland and Tara Matthews meet two years ago, and their first meeting was not the best. Tara is Delaney’s best friend and a Doctor doing her residence at the hospital. Thorn is a famous motorcycle rider, builder and racer.
So, here it is two years later, and they see each other at Dare’s wedding. After literally bumping into each other, they share a passionate kiss that neither can get out of their mind. These two play cat and mouse throughout the book; both attracted to each other, but not willing to admit and avoiding each other like the plague. When the wife of one of the head doctors at the hospital approach Tara to ask Thorn to pose for a calendar for the children’s fund raiser, Tara knows she cannot avoid Thorn if she must ask him about posing for the calendar. When Thorn says no, but with a proposition, to have a one-week affair with him after his race competition, he will agree to do the photo. Thorn has been racing and building consistently for two years and his rule is to remain celibate before his competitions. Of course, Tara had no plans in sleeping with Thorn, her motto was, “you cannot miss anything you never had,” so she agreed to his proposal. However, Thorn gave her something to miss and think about. Tara in turn, decided to flip the script and seduce him while he is celibate before his big race, hoping he would renege on the agreement. Both got so worked up, they couldn’t resist each other. All I can say, is the games that people play. They were each other’s challenge.
Thorn had never been in love and Tara never had sex. Yet, hurt and disappointment was a hunting from their past. They both had something to teach each other. This story was playful and sweet, however it amazed me how grouchy and arrogant Thorn was, he was a brat and it seem like sex was the only thing that could get him out of his funk. However, he cared so much for Tara and his compassion was sweet and gentle. I enjoyed, I recommend, I will probably re-read. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
Cast: • Brittany S. Hall as Tara Matthews • Keston Karter as Thorn Westmoreland
4 stars. I love Thorn so much. That man is sexy and a jerk and I swooned so hard. I don't know which book I loved more, this one or book 3 but I do know that Thorn is hands down without a doubt my favorite Westmoreland brother. He is everything.
I loved his and Tara's relationship and how it's kinda a hate to love but not really. They have wonderful chemistry and it was great seeing both of them let their guards down and be loved. They both have had their hearts broken in the past and have walls built so that made it even more satisfying when they did fall in love.
I'm really enjoying this series. The books are quick, sexy, addicting and the characters are charming and very likable. I look forward to reading the next one which follows Stone.
I love Brenda Jackson books, and the westmoreland are the best, they all very different, and beautiful love historys. Thorn and Tara , is one more of my favor. I just wish to know more about them on the other books following. I will recommend Brenda Jackson books any time.
This one had potential and I was so looking forward to Tara and Thorn's love story after they were first introduced in book one ... but it didn't really work for me because of what turned out to be a rather shady premise.
He's moody, sexy, but OMG...This man can set you on 🔥🔥🔥 fire. I mean his sex appeal and swagger...I'd be putty in his hands. I'm still hot thinking about it.
Really enjoyed this story. I remember when Thorn and Tara first met and the sparks that flew. Two years later, they both finally decide to do something about it. Love how she tried to hold her own against him. Clearly it was love at first sight but watching them figure it out was wonderful.
I love Thorn and Tara. Attraction is a powerful thing. These are two characters that were well developed and prickly but in a good way. I love all the supporting characters especially Thorn’s brothers. I reread this story. 😘
This is another enemies to lover trope, I love, Tara and Thorn, the attraction was hilarious to see, because all they did was keep avoiding each other, but it’s so cute. How the brothers get involved, and taunt Thorn, it’s cute and HOT! Because THORN! 🤭🤭
