Developing Case Studies is a collection of 27 essays by a group of leading internationals scholars on the role of culture and cultural change in the evolution of countries and regions around the world. The essays aim to further the exploration of the thesis put forth by Larry Harrison and Samuel Huntington in their widely discussed book Culture Matters which examined the role that culture plays in hindering or accelerating political and economic development in the Third World. Lawrence Elliot Harrison (March 11, 1932 - December 9, 2015) was an American scholar known for his work on international development and being former USAID mission director to various Latin American countries. He is the past director of the Cultural Change Institute at the Fletcher School, Tufts University, where he also served as an adjunct lecturer.
