[Everlasting Classic: Erotic BDSM Romance, figging, sex toys, HEA]
Thirty-year-old English lawyer Emma Parkes believes Club Submission holds the key to her best friend's disappearance. Well out of her comfort zone, Emma's eyes are opened wide when she observes the Masters of Submission at work. They're so confident and sexually arousing—especially beautiful blue-eyed Master Zane.
Submission member and Dom Zane Anders frequently enjoys all the club has to offer. The wealthy, forty-year-old diamond importer has everything he could possibly need—everything except for love. A natural dominant, he's not looking for a permanent submissive in his life. But perhaps he'll make an exception for the stunning lawyer from London.
When Club Submission is plunged into a high-profile murder investigation, its very existence is put in jeopardy.
Can Emma unlock the truth, or will the devastatingly handsome Zane Anders, a Master of Submission, unlock her deepest sexual desires, instead?
From an early age, best-selling erotic romance author, Jan Bowles, loved to be creative. You would often find her painting vivid landscapes, or putting the finishing touches to a graphic design.
Nowadays, Jan channels all that enthusiasm into penning erotic romances with a delicious, sexy BDSM theme. She loves writing about strong heroes and heroines who aren't perfect. While their flaws may be many, their emotions are strong and all-consuming, and whatever troubles lie ahead, readers can be assured of a happily every after.

Color me confused. I can't quite wrap my head around a woman who is clearly intelligent (lawyer) going to a BDSM Club, letting a strange man make her cum (she is a BDSM virgin), and then following said guy home. The reason I'm confused is that this is a man who she thinks might have been involved in her friend's disappearance as in kidnapping and potentially more. When he grabs her outside his house (thinking she is a journalist out to expose him) she goes with him inside his isolated home where he proceeds to declare himself her Master, tie her up, fuck her senseless, punish her, and demand that she tell him all her thoughts. Do I need to remind you she is a lawyer? Who lets a strange guy tie her up at his isolated home where no one knows where she is mere hours after meeting him.
I would be remiss if I did not point out she consents. That's important because otherwise I would have felt like I got this one mixed up with my serial killer novels. This DUDE is coming off as a creepy stalker at this point rather than an experienced Dom. Phrases like "As your new Master, I demand to hear all your fantasies" and "I want to know exactly what you're thinking. It is my right as your Master to know everything that goes on inside your head" give me the heebie jeebies. Again she has known him for a FEW HOURS.
OK so most normal BDSM etiquette says a strange guy is not your "Master" within a few hours (frankly he hasn't earned that right) and you certainly don't follow him home and go inside his house when your BEST FRIEND is missing and you know she met a guy at that BDSM Club. So even if you do go home with him you don't let him tie you up when you have NEVER experienced any sort of BDSM activity. And as a Dom you tie up someone who has never done any BDSM anything, punish her (for making a sound as you are giving her several orgasms - WTH?) and declare you are her Master?
Then when she tells you she is scared (many many times!) you say "Excellent, my pet. A little scared is good. A small amount of fear heightens the emotions." I was looking for the bottle of Chianti.....
Edited: I finished. It did get better at 50% but the dialogue needed some work. It was a little too cheesy in places. Nothing much came of her missing friend after and it had just a quick resolution in the end..that could have been better developed to add depth to the story). The last BDSM scene was nice - still it was just a 2. I had heard good things about the author so maybe this one just didn't click with me. I had a hard time getting past the issues and language. It didn't help that Emma started saying "this slave" towards the end. Objectification is not a kink of mine and I hate reading it.
This book was an awesome read. The story begins with Jessie coming to Boston from England to be with her friend Chloe. They are planning to open up a law firm together, so Jessie was going to get settled in and start on their future. Soon Jessie finds out that Chloe is missing and this begins her search to find out what happened to her friend. A week later,a clue brings Jessie to Club Submission in search of her friend. This is where she meets "Master Zane" who is a successful business man that likes to dominate at night.. Attraction sparks between the two and soon they join forces to look for Jessie's friend as well as start up a dom/sub exchange between each other. This book has a great storyline with the friend missing but throw in the sexual attraction between Zane and Jessie and it is fireworks! Zane introduces Jessie into the world of submission and it becomes a very hot read! I loved how the author not only wrote about the submissive's point of view but also the Master..This is one of the first books that I have come across that gets into the Master's head as well as the subs; and I found it fascinating as well as exciting! The battle that goes on in Jessie's head about whether she will stay independant as a woman if she submits is a very realistic one, and the journey that she takes toward accepting her submissive self is not always and easy one. This book is well written and keeps you interested until the last page. We are also introduced to some other "Masters" from the club and it sets us up for other stories.Zane falls in love almost immediately and he is a man who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to reach for it. All in all this was exactly what I like in my BDSM books and I look forward to more!
The title and tease had me looking forward to a BDSM read. what I landed up reading was a story that never really worked. It had elements of BDSM club scene, murder/mystery, erotica, and romance but they were fragmented and didn't really gel to tell A story. Disappointing for me.
Emma has joined a bdsm club looking a missing friend. She is scared to death never having entered such a place. Chloe is missing she must find out why and if she is alive but there are no real clues yet since many in this club do not use real names for privacy issues... so she is on the hunt for the truth, she is a lawyer and lost in this world of bdsm but she must do what she can to find chloe..
This was a great book, I will go on to the 2nd and third in this series.
The ending was good, better than good and the sex on my between these two, and did Zane end the book with a big bang in the sex department... it was nasty good..
This book had me a bit lost. While i love a good bdsm novel this one just didn't come together. There were elements that i enjoyed but mostly there were too many wtf moments for me. I will try the next book and then decide whether to continue with the series.

I’ve read Jan Bowles and I can honestly say that I haven’t been disappointed by any of her books yet, including this book I’m about to review. Jan Bowles, at least in my opinion, is right up there with Maya Banks and Shayla Black in the BDSM romance category. If you know anything about BDSM romance you know that Maya and Shayla are pretty much the best of the best.
This is the first in a series of books that she’s having published, although I didn’t know this was a series when I took on the assignment. You don’t need to read the whole series to understand what’s going on with each of the stories.
I think a running theme with Jan Bowles books is that the male hero, while not gentle towards the female protagonist, he’s not cruel toward her either. The reason why I bring this point up, is that the male protagonist in this book, Zane is a hard man, yet he wouldn’t purposely hurt Emma either physically nor emotionally. There is a scene in the beginning of the book that beautifully demonstrates what I’m trying to say. You’ll know what I mean when you read it and if you know Jan Bowles heroes (and even if you don’t), you’ll understand my meaning. Zane is a hard man, I need to say this again because he’s had a lot of emotional “stuff”, for lack of a better word, to have to deal with, so he needs to be this way. Yet, in true dom fashion, he’s extremely confident and he knows what he wants. Zane, deep down is a decent guy.
Then we have Emma, who’s a little repressed, a little shy,and extremely determined. She’s determined to be successful in her career, her law practice, and to find out the truth about her friend’s disappearance . I found myself drawn towards Emma, and I liked her very much. In true Jan Bowles form, the two protagonists form a very close emotionally and sexually intense bond rather quickly. I really like the emotional connection that the characters make because they really need each other throughout the book. I found the secondary characters entertaining as well. There are a whole cornucopia of characters you’ll meet from the club that touched my heart, and I hope yours as well.
For straight-laced English woman Emma, Club Submission is really the last place she would have ever went but it might just have led her on the adventure of a lifetime while looking for her best Chloe. With just e-mails exchanged with one "Orion" Emma is lost in the last place she knew Chloe to have gone. Master Zane Anders was easily drawn to the blonde that looked as if she had never been into a BDSM club before, and knew that breaking her into the scene would be something he would thoroughly enjoy doing. And when she follows him home he is even more shocked but mostly because he thinks she is a reporter trying to get a story on the club and its members not that she is looking for her missing friend who she just "knows" something has happened too. Next thing he knows is he is being questioned about his relationship to member "Giselle" who is actually Emma's friend Chloe. Can the mystery of Chloe Watts be solved before the Strong brothers have to close Club Submission for good since the police think the club has everything to do with the disappearance. Personally I have fallen in love with this series with just the first book and I have instantly added the other books to my Kindle Wish List. But I have a feeling I will be buying them before I get them gifted to me. I am looking forward to reading the next books in the series as well as other books by Jan Bowles that I own or put on my wish list
I really liked this story. There was just enough of a mystery surrounding the disappearance of Emma’s friend to keep the non-steamy parts of the story interesting. I did pause and consider the situation that Emma was in looking for her friend. If it had been me I think I would have been a bit more persistent and a little less distracted by Master Zane. But I will admit that Master Zane could prove to be distracting. Seriously, that man is HOT.
I do wonder if Ms. Bowles has plans for the cop that was investigating the disappearance and also the club. I haven’t taken the time to check out her website or look at the future book descriptions because I do like surprises and I intend to read the other books but my mind won’t let go of why he was written into the story as such an all-out asshole but had no role in the story other than as an annoyance to the main characters.
Master of Submission is a fast read with plenty of kink and a bit of a mystery. A fun weekend read.
Mixed feeelings on this one. While the story kept me reading, it had several issues.
I had problems with her allowing herself to be tied up by a stranger in his home while thinking her friend was possibly murdered by someone from the club. Yeah, I get the whole immediate connection that often comes into play in these books, but it was a bit hard to swallow. Also the dialogue was lame at times. (The use of "real" instead of "really" in particular. Don't know if it's a Boston thing or just bad grammer. Just know it bugged me.) The BDSM scenes, while technically erotic, somehow just weren't stimulating for me. Lastly the plot of her missing friend gets very casual treatment. Expected it to add more intrigue.
The relationship as it devolops is what redeems this story.
Overall, I would say it was enjoyable, but just didn't fully deliver in several aspects. Undecided if I will continue with the series.
I enjoy Jan Bowles' writting and this one was a good read. Short and HEA, Emma and Zane end up as a couple really fast but for some reason it doesn't seem like it was rushed but there was alot going on and he protected Emma after she found out about her friend. The only thing was I was expecting alot more tension regarding what happened with her friend but it seemed like it was almost an after thought.
Without a doubt the worst book in this genre I have ever read.
I am really forgiving when it comes to weak plot lines (which this most certainly is), but I am generally willing to overlook that if the characters aren't so unrealistic, melodramatic, and cheesy as fuck. I actually read this book and hated both characters, who I thought were full of themselves and lacking in intelligence.
Seriously, look elsewhere for a better read. Start with Cherise Sinclair.
Things don't quite quick for this book. If all you want is a glimpse at BDSM okay. But they hold Chloe's murder out as the precipitating factor then end the story by announcing it was someone who wasn't even in the story. Disappointing.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Elements of the story were good but, lacked cohesiveness. It could have been a good little suspense if the death of a friend was not dealt with so flippantly. Oh, and Emma was a bit of a twit.
Premise is shaky but it's a fun read. I'm not really sure anyone just jumps into a lifestyle with little interest so quickly but anything is possible in fantasy.
