I never liked reading stories that is written poetically even in my native language. The biggest reason for that is they take a lot time to understand. But I adored the way Poe used English. I read this book outloud with my boyfriend and it was a great decision as I could hear the melody of the sentences. And also I never thought English could be this melodic. I wish I could read the non simplified version but even this one was a bit hard for me to understand. I rated it 4 instead of 5 because the reasonings in the detective stories were overexplained and I think Poe could believe the readers intelligence a little more :) But I know that it's one of the first examples in this genre. If I'd read it back then I might have need those explanations. But I did want to rate it from a 2025 perspective.
