This is a 122 page compilation of SHORT STORIES, not a full-length novel. For the first time in print … The Vampire Vignettes, originally appearing on D. B. Reynolds’ blog, some of the Vignettes are mere glimpses of life between the books, sensual interludes from New Year’s Eve on the beaches of Malibu, to love in a penthouse over Manhattan. Others continue the stories told in the books, including a challenge fought on a snowy night in Montreal. And all of them take the reader behind the scenes with the author’s ultimate alpha Vampire Lords and their beautiful and independent mates. And Never Before Published – Two brand new, full-length short stories. You Belong To Me follows Duncan and his mate Emma as they consolidate power in his new territory, while generating plenty of heat in private. And then it’s time for The Wedding, as readers join Rajmund and Sarah for their big weekend ... and Cyn’s girls-night-out bachelorette party. Unfortunately, some local kidnappers have other plans, and Cyn and Sarah will have to outwit their abductors before Raphael and Raj start hunting, and the entire wedding is ruined!Be aware! There is sex in these stories. And we wouldn’t have it any other way! Enjoy.

What a cute collection of baby stories. This whole read was just snapshots of the lives of our favorite past couples. I loved getting to see little bits of everyday life with Raphael and Cyn, and the other couples too. Sometimes in the main novels sweet little moments are lost to the action and flow of the plot. So this book gives you those sweet moments and helps build onto the love story. Plus it makes you feel closer to the couples. At least it does for me anyways. I loved it. The only reason I didn't give it a full five stars was I would have liked a bit less sex. Don't get me wrong I love sex in books, but....... if you have five short stories of the same couple and they have sex in 90% of those short stories it starts to get a little redundant and repetitive. Still a very cute, and sweet read!

A collection of short stories or more precisely mostly snippets from the lives of vampire lords. There are five Raphael and Cyn's stories, the reason I wanted to read this. Although all of them are more about their relationship and lots of sex, it is always good to come back to this couple. D.B. Raynolds doesn't use unnecessary drama with them. All five stories deal with a holiday or some anniversary: Christmas, New Year's Eve, a Vampire Valentine and a party organized by Cyn's grandparents.

Two stories are about Raj and Sarah. Both are about their wedding.

The sixth story in this collection is Sophia and Colin's. This one is about the challenge of another vampire. Sophia is my least favourite character in the series and the less I read about her, the better. Not that it is a bad story. It is great. She is powerful and she quickly solves the problem on her own. It's just that I don't like her character that much. When it comes to Raphael, she still think something like 'He’s my ally … for now'.

You Belong To Me is Duncan and Emma's story. Another challenge, but less bloody. The vampire in question was pathetic.

And the last one, The Wedding, is the longest. Imagine Cyn, Sarah and Emma together. Something was bound to go wrong.

Vampires in America is a delightful series that has introduced some wonderful characters. The Vignettes were a way for the author to appease us fans in between publications & turned into events themselves. They are little scenes of the everyday lives of the Vampire Lords & their mates, the stuff that happens between all the big events. I love that they are all in one place now! This is a very fast ready, each story is fairly short & you should definitely read the books otherwise you might be a little lost (they would still be enjoyable, but you would miss all the delicious background info & character development & who wants to do that?) This particular collection includes several shorts about Raphael & Cyn, Raj & Sara, Duncan & Emma, & Sophia & Colin...the last being an event where all are present aside from Sophia. To be perfectly honest, Raphael & Cyn are my favorite couple in this universe & I feel they are really the backbone for the entire series (So if you don't read anything else, at least read the 1st 2 books in the series: Raphael & Jabril) having said that all of these vignettes are fun, naughty, & a delightful look at characters I have to come to be very fond of. The last vignette (written specifically for this publication) is a wonderful short where all the characters get to interact & you really get to see all the players & what they are like. I loved this particular story so much that it makes me sad that Vampire Lords are not really comfortable being in the same room with one another (let alone the same city). Cyn & her interaction with the other ladies is always fun to read about! The only thing that disappoints me is that now I have to wait for the next book & the next vignette.

Let me start by saying I really love and look forward to reading this series whenever a new installment comes out. I have read Duncan's book multiple times and the scene in Sophia's book where she is reliving her past to her lover made me cry...on public transportation. That just doesn't happen to me.

Also I really enjoy a steamy sex scene. Its one of the reasons I like this series so much because the sex is off the charts hot. So why did I rate this book three stars when all the other book I've read by Ms. Reynolds are rated a 5?

Repetition people. If there is one thing I am not of fan of is reading the same thing over and over again (although that point can be argued with 'then why do you read so many books of the same genre?' but whatever).

We all love a vignette book. But holy moley how many vignettes were there in this book where it was JUST Raphael and Cyn gettin' it on? I was beginning to think the description lied and it was only going to be them!

But anyway, if you want a paranormal romance book that pretty much has the same sex scene over and over just so you can have a few O's in your bed at night then by all means this is the book for you. Other than that there was no real substance which was disappointing. it doesn't mean I'm going to stop reading this series, I still do love this author and the characters she creates. I have high hopes for the future.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 unicorns - I really liked it!!

I’m starting with things readers usually want to know about. This is a collection of 9 stories most very short, but all part of the Vampires in America series. I had started reading Betrayed, and it mentioned something happening that I never read about. After some research I realized that I hadn’t bought and read these short stories yet, and this is what the missing information was. So I rushed to buy it, and got to reading it!! Some of the short stories are basically just really steamy sex scenes, but not all. If my mom read this book, she would probably fast forward through half of it, but I like those scenes. I’m not a big reader of short stories. My favorite stories in this collection were the longer.

As always, D.B. is amazing with her descriptions making all the stories come alive, and I was totally chuckling throughout as the vampire lords freak out at the mates getting together and never knowing what they would get into next together or advise each other about many things. All of my favorite characters were part of these stories which made this that much better :)

I highly recommend if you love this series that you have to read this or you will be missing things, and I don’t like to miss anything :) I’m off to read :)

I love this series. No doubt. What I love the most about this writer ? She cares about her characters even after their basic story gets told .Back story , after story and everything in between I want it all. This was a great little addition to the main books.

Number 9 was the only one worth reading. it was the only one that actually had a plot. The rest was soppy nonsense. That is all.

really liked this collection of short stories. Funny, lots of sex and some action. Most were short, but a few were over 30 pages. The first one was Cyn & Raphael's first New Yr. Eve together, about 10 pages. Funny with some sex. The next was also about Cyn & Raphael. It was a Valentine's short story, 16 pages. Raphael returns from dealing with leftover stuff from Jabril, and brings back a gift for her, a ring. A diamond band to go with her other ring. The next was Cyn getting an invite to her Grandparent's 60th anniversary party. More sex. The next is a continuation of that one, it's the actual party. 33 pages, and showed Raphael's ruthless protectiveness of Cyn. He meets her father, doesn't care for him, and buys some property out from under him. More sex, and humor. The next one is about Raj & Sarah. He asks her to marry him and gives her a ring. 31 pages, more sex & humor. The next one is about Sophia, and confronting some left over issues from Lucien, 35 pages. She travels to Montreal with Colin to check on a vampire there. There's some posturing and a slight confrontation before she shows who rules the territory. More sex, and humor. Also gives some info on what happened with Darren. The next one is about Cyn & Raphael, and about Christmas. More sex & humor. 23 pages. Then there is one where Duncan checks out one of the blood houses in his territory. Sarah goes with him, against his wishes. There is a little confrontation at the bar, and Sarah stands her ground against a vampire. More sex & humor. About 50 pages. The last one is about Raj & Sarah's wedding, about 100 pages. It includes Cyn & Raphael, and Duncan & Sarah. The ladies go out on a shopping expedition with their daytime guards. Two get kidnapped. They get away and call Robbie (day guard). The 3 ladies return to their mates, who are all furious and become even more uber protective. Then the wedding happens and a little after wedding reception. More sex, plenty of humor, action.
These were good short stories, some better then others. I really liked Duncan's story about the blood house, Sophia's story, and the wedding story.

HOW I LOVE RAPHEAL AND CYN LET ME COUNT THE WAYS.......

ONE OF THE THINGS I LOVE ABOUT YOU MS. REYNOLDS IS THAT YOU DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE COUPLE THAT EVERYONE FELL IN LOVE WITH WHILE WRITING ABOUT OTHER CHARACTERS AND FOR ME THAT'S A BIG DEAL. WHY I DO LIKE SOME OF THE OTHER CHARACTERS THE FIRST COUPLE WILL ALWAYS HAVE MY HEART!!!!!

THIS RECEIVE 5 STARS BECAUSE OF THE KING AND QUEEN RAPHAEL AND CYN!!!!! THOUGH ALL THE VAMPIRE LORDS MAYBE GOOD IN THERE OWN RIGHT. NO ONE AND I MEAN NO ONE TOPS THEM IN MY BOOK!!!! NEED MORE OF THEM AND CYN KICKING ASS!!!!! DUNCAN I LOVE HIM AS WELL AS HIS MATE! RAJ AND SARAH ARE A GOOD COUPLE..... NOW SOPHIA AND COLIN.... WELL LOVE HIM BUT I CAN GO WITHOUT HER...BUT IF I'M BEING TRUTHFUL I WOULDN'T READ THIS SERIES WITHOUT CYN AND RAPHAEL........EVEN THOUGH LUCAS AND KATHRYN WEREN'T IN THIS ONE I LOVE THEM TOO..... KATHRYN IS MY SECOND FAVORITE AFTER CYN!! I WANT TO SEE RAPH SHOW ALL THE VAMPIRE LORDS HE'S HEAD HUNCHO AND I WANT CYN TO SHOW THE MATES SHE RUN THIS IN A VERY DON'T TRY ME BUT CLASSY KIND OF WAY!!!!

This is a review of the vignettes that have appeared on D.B. Reynolds website. They are a nice snapshot into a specific time of her character's lives. In this compilation we are treated to two brand new vignettes..the second being more of a novella.

It was wonderful revisiting all of my favorite characters and once again reminding me why I enjoy this series so much. D.B. Reynolds has a true talent for painting vivid pictures that makes you see in your mind's eye exactly what is happening. Her characters are strong and masculine and you can't get more alpha than her vamps. Her heroines are strong and individual people who connect with her heros on several levels.

I totally enjoyed reading about Raj and Sarah's wedding and the interaction between all our heroine. She weaved a wonderful story in which 'our Cyn' gets to be a badass again.

I strong 4 stars for this must read for all Vampires in America fans. Thanks for the lovely Valentine's Present D.B.:)

Vampires in America: The Vignettes, Volume 1 by D.B. Reynolds
Genres; Adult, Paranormal, Romance.
3.5 Stars

Didn't Wow Me
This book consist of vignettes and 2 short stories.
There are a few editing mistakes in some of the stories, but not all.
Some of the vignettes were cool, but some of them were boring for me.
Of the two short stories my favorite was the last one which is also at the end of the book.

There are 9 stories all together.

It was an interesting read, but.......Not much substance.

The sex scenes were hot & steamy, and that is what most of the vignettes are.

I think that about covers everything this book has to offer.

IMHO an unnecessary waste of valuable reading time.

While I loved most of the books in this series, I found this read not worth it. It wasn't bad, just a bit superficial and shallow. No more bad-ass heroines but this happy and giddy, wedding-crazy heroines was what we had left in this short stories. Don't get me wrong, it was nice to see them all happy and enjoying their time together, but everything I treasured from the past reads was completely lost. Most of the stories just felt like more of the same at the end. I didn't care much about any of them and I'm sure I will be forgetting I ever read this very soon.

I still love the series and will be reading the next reads. I just hope the series doesn't get all corny and predictable as most do because what I liked the most about it was that something different it had.

This is a compilation of nine short stories written to tide readers over in between the full-length books in the series. These were lovely snippets into the lives of the mated couples in the series; it’s always nice to go back and revisit them. Cyn and Raphael are my favorite couple in the series and I always enjoy watching their love grow stronger.

My favorite story in the volume is Vignette #9, The Wedding. Rajmund and Sarah are getting married and Cyn has planned a shopping trip with Sarah and Emma, Duncan’s mate, and a bachelorette party later in the evening. However, the girls never make it to the party because Cyn and Sarah are kidnapped from a changing room in a department store!

I love the series and can’t wait to find out what the author has in store for us next!

Damn it I loved these short stories. Reading them makes we want to re-read the entire series.
I love everyone, from the vampire lords, the girls, the vampires and humans who protect them.
This is one of those series where the possibilities and the stories are endless.
The sex scenes are done really well and just make my toes curl...love it! The intensity of these vampires and the women and the men they love are off the charts. The vampire lords are the baddest bad asses there are and yet when it comes to their girls, there isn't anything they wouldn't do.
If you haven't read this series, all I can say is "REALLY!"
Awesome...fabulous read.
HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

A whole lot of sex with some other stuff happening,it became repetitive after a bit but I read each word of Go? Raphael and Cyn's stories and skimmed the others with Raj and Sarah and Colin and Sophia.

It was ok but more filler than anything else, 2.5* rounded up because I'll count anything with Raphael and Cyn as a win

9 scenes from the Vampires in America series originally and temporarily only found on the author’s website. Each contributes details to the series storyline but except for the last are mostly just a vehicle to have a very steamy sex scene. This is definitely X rated, maybe even XX.

1) A Vampire New Year’s Eve. (Read after book 2: Jabril). 2 stars. Malibu 12/31. Cyn & Raphael’s first New Year’s Eve together starts out at a party for all Raphael’s children and ends at a private party for two on the beach. Boring.

2) A Vampire Valentine. (Read after book 2: Jabril). 4 stars. Malibu condo, Valentine’s Day. Raphael’s in New Mexico dealing with the Jabril mess and Cyn’s at her condo: alone. I love their gifts to each other.

3) The Invitation. (Read after book 3: Rajmund). 2 stars. Malibu. Cyn gets an invitation to a very special family gathering, but she has to have a very hot sex scene with Raphael to get her nerve up before looking at it. Makes a lot of sense, right?

4) The Party. (Read after book 3: Rajmund). 4 stars. Cyn & Raphael attend her grandparent’s 60th wedding anniversary where Cyn’s’ dad tries to talk business so Raphael teaches him a lesson in economics.

5) The Question. (Read after book 3: Rajmund). 4 stars. Manhattan, NY. Rajmund returns from a short trip to overhear Sarah having pre-wedding jitters. She feels he’s only getting married because she wants to but he’s already prepared.

6) The Challenge. (Read after book 4: Sophia). 5 stars. Montreal, Canada. Sophia & Colin are on a ‘meet & greet’ tour of Sophia’s new territory. Boy, is she powerful. This has two steamy scenes. I guess to make for their lack compared to Cyn & Raphael. I love Colin’s guard idea.

7) All I Want for Christmas. (Read after book 4: Sophia). 2 stars. Cyn & Raphael in Malibu on Christmas Eve. Except for a brief melancholy beginning it’s just one long sex scene. Couple of unique moments.

8) You belong to Me. (Read after book 5: Duncan). 2 stars. Washington DC. Emma & Duncan. After trying to use sex on Emma to persuade her not to go with him, Duncan pays a visit to a seedy blood house. Afterward they have sex, again.

9) The Wedding. (Read after book 5: Duncan). 5 stars. Manhattan, NY. More short story then vignette. It’s the day previous to Raj & Sarah’s wedding. Raj is nervous enough with both Duncan and Raphael in his territory, but then he finds out Cyn & Emma have planned a bachelorette party for Sarah. But first the girls go shopping!

Can't really rate this book since I didn't read all of it.
I only read the parts of the book that were about the "The Party" #4,
"The Challange" #6 and "The Wedding" # 9.
Otherwise this book was not for me..
I'm pretty sure I was able to read this via Kindle Unlimited & I'm glad
I didn't pay as much as I did on the other books in this series.

I did enjoy the story line but since it's a "digital" book, I'm not able to
just flip through it like I would with a "physical" book.

Not sure if I'll bother with the rest of the books in this series but I did enjoy
reading more about the other characters in this series.

I wouldn't say this was a waste of time, because it wasn't really. Some of the stories were a little sweet, or were interesting. But it also didn't add all that much to the overall storyline either. It kind of just seemed like each short story was just another excuse to have the different couples having more sex. Which is all well and good but I guess I kind of expected them to be more pertinent.

Ok

It was ok, but it was mainly Can and Raphael. I would like the Vingettes to be more about bit players..
Jared, Nicholas (especially since they indicated he didn't date super models), Miguel, Emilie. Or an update on Kurt and Daniel
