In my novels, the series main character, Michael Romano, (this author's alter ego) is a dedicated police officer who sometimes, while performing his duties, inadvertently becomes involved with people who have no business being on any police force. Mike is an honest, police officer, righteous almost to a fault. Subconsciously, he compares himself to Saint Michael, the Archangel. Always wanting to do a good job as a servant of the public, Romano, thru the forces of the universe, inadvertently gets involved in incidents and investigations that are more exciting then the basic duties of a police officer.
Follow along as Mike continues in his attempts to right every wrong he witnesses as he does his job. Be present when Romano battles demons both within the Department and himself as he inadvertently comes in contact with people who have no business being police officers and the avenging angel syndrome drives him forward.

This author's writings come from an inner need to share my experiences with others while fulfilling the public's ongoing interest with police work.
While still entertaining, my writings show all facets of the sometimes complex personalities of those who choose to be the daily guardians of our society. My intent is to share experiences of my professional career thru law enforcement and private investigations.

This author's second novel, Worms in the Apple, takes place in New York during the 70's. The novel depicts incidents in Romano's career in New York's once infamous 42nd Street area, known as The Apple. The flavor of the area emanates from the pages as you read. Both novels are available in Kindle Book format as well as printed.

In my third novel,Dirty Baggs, continues with a series of incidents taken from the career of Mike Romano, this author's alter ego. The third installment of Romano's career takes place in Staten Island,NY. As the story unfolds,Mike is surprised and shocked when he finds out who Baggs really is. "Baggs" is available as Kindle and printed formats.

Author's Background:
Joe DeCicco originally attended college to practice an Electrical Engineering. Life circumstances decreed that he join the New York City Police Department in 1973. Joe has spent more then half his service in plainclothes, including over four years as a narcotics investigator and more than three years in a Brooklyn Detective Squad. After spending twenty years on the streets of New York, last serving in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, Joe is a happily retired Detective with over twenty awards and decorations.
After leaving the NYPD Joe obtained a private investigators license and is still active in that field, often, pro bono.
His novel(s) closely follow his personal experiences as fictional cop,Mike Romano, while serving in law enforcement. The pages are a fictionalized cornucopia of actual events and characters.
Writing comes to the author from an inner need to share his experiences with others. He plans to write a series fictionally relating his past professional life up to the present.
Joe resides in Coastal North Carolina with his wife Judy and one of his thirteen grandchildren, John. Joe en

By James J.Kaufman, award winning author of “The Collectibles”

Michael Romano, the New York City Policeman introduced by Joe DeCicco in “Angel with a Gun”, his debut novel, featured again in “Worms in the Apple”, and now in “Dirty Baggs”, the third in the series, stays true to his unique character and mission to get the bad guys. Once in a while a writer emerges who can disregard some of the rules of writing and rely on the strength of the story. I was drawn to this book, and have given it five stars, because of its inherent cop-culture reality, one I witnessed first-hand during fourteen years as a town justice in New York. Readers looking for thrillers and suspense, set in the world of New York’s Finest, won’t be disappointed.

This review is from: Dirty Baggs (Kindle Edition)

I’ve always liked Cop books. I prefer reading series of the same character finding it more entertaining and following the progression of the hero. I am a big fan of the character Harry Bosch by Michael Connelly. I have a few others but now have added Mike Romano to my list of Lucas Davenport, Virgil Flowers and former MP, Reacher.
Mike Romano’s setting is more familiar to me. I am a former New Yorker, born, raised and worked in the Big Apple. I’ve met many police officers and most are just regular guys trying to do the right thing. No grand heroics, no big capers or horrific shootouts. Just one day at a time people who hope to make a difference and make their world a little better.
This is Mike Romano. A New York City cop, who might be a little idealistic and enthusiastic, but finds himself in realistic situations. I’ve followed Mike from Angel with a Gun and Worms In the Apple.
Mike is becoming a better cop and the author has progressed as well. He better keep writing.
