About the author

Tui T. Sutherland, who sometimes writes under the pen name Rob Kidd, is a children's book author who has also written under the pen name Heather Williams. She shares another pen name, Erin Hunter, with writers Kate Cary and Cherith Baldry when they collaborate with editor Victoria Holmes on the Seekers and Warriors series of novels.In 2009, she appeared as a contestant on Jeopardy!, becoming a two-day champion and winning a grand total of $46,200.

I like books where are Pirates of the Caribbean. If You like adventures of Jack Sparrow. or You are a fan of Pirates of the Carribean, You can like this book. I think that its very nice and all fans of Pirates will like it :)

I love reading books that have pirates as a central theme however this one didn't quite hit the mark as there was very little conflict and so much was said yet so little happened. Sparrow is an interesting character though the resolve of this volume wasn't particularly interesting. The Sirens aren't even the antagonists, the merfolk are, yet the book is titled the Siren Song. At least differentiate between the two. The illustrations are fascinating and the story itself, in terms of narration and description is fine. My favourite part is perhaps when Arabella jumps ship in order to see her mother once more. If not of intrigue came out of this book we now know what Sparrow's crew's deepest desires are. I have volume 4 but not 3 so I won't be able to jump into the next one immediately despite the cliff hanger :(

I just want the author to focus on what is actually important rather than make it read like a Beast Quest book. Perhaps I am simply not the target audience. Also, why is it so difficult to find and purchase these? If you know where I can obtain them for a good price pls let me know.

First book I read for the 24 hour readathon by Hannah from the channel Athroneofbooks, the first ever 24 hour readathon I was able to partecipate in. I need to say that I'm a very slow reader and I didn't stay up all night, but still I managed to read this book so I'm already happy.
I actually read the french edition, because in 2017 this whole series is being republished in french and I need to improve and mantain my french. This contributed to slow a bit more my reading process, but I learned a thon of words and I actually enjoyed it. The story felt very much like a transitional one, like it prepares you for the third book, which I hope I'll be able to read later today, because I'm so hyped about it. In this book I pin pointed some moments where the Jack Sparrow we all know from the movie is definetely showing and I loved that. In the middle part I could feel the frustration of my favourite captain and I got a bit bored. And the part where they killed the sea monster was quite graphic to me. So overall I enjoyed the story a lot and I tink it was well executed.

Well, it certainly wasn't as good as the first book. :( "the siren song" has done little to move the plot forward. The crew of the barnacle, hasnt gotten much closer to their rather shady goal of finding the Sword. But! We were given a good look at Sachs of the crew members deepest wish. Yayz for a bit of character building there.

The writing is good, and jack is as arrogant as ever, but really, isn't that what makes captain jack sparrow great. :) I love when he says savy! XD I can just hear john depps voice as I read it.

An alright 2nd book but nothing great. The dialogue, especially the banter, is awesome. Its totally rob Kidd's strength. (Rob kidd is actually a pen name. I highly recommend you Read her other works under tui. T. Sutherland. I absolutely adore her wings of fire series.)

A nice quick little read for kids and any fans of the pirates of the Caribbean movies.

I’m currently reading all these books in order, and I have to say that this book was a bit of a step down from the first one. The story really doesn’t take off until the second half. When it does, though, it really takes off. I’m not sure it’s in a good way. Essentially the crew is still in search of a mythical sword but are bewitched by a siren song on the way. So the book’s pretty much a filler. But what gets me about the ending is that it expands on an already existent myth in a way that might be too shallow. Without giving away too much, the ending suggests that the myth will continue to unfold throughout the series. I just hope it doesn’t detract from the already fantastic mythological tale (if you haven’t guessed from the cover art or the title the myth is that of the *SPOILER*...sirens)

All-in-all it was a fun read. But it’s definitely a filler, and you spend most of the time waiting for the crew to figure out what the title already explains is a siren song.

I enjoyed the scene in which Arabella falls into the sea and Jack attempts to save her in the deep sea. He tried everything he could to save Arabella. He took a deep breath, and as he descended again, he noticed something dragging Arabella down. A vibrant Mermaid. Jack was in a pinch.

This mermaid was the main opponent of this book. It was about writing about Jack's many emotions and actions. I liked this scene because Jack was in a pinch and was suffering as a result. It piqued my interest even more because the action scene took place in the water.

The second book in the Jack Sparrow series by Rob Kidd. After escaping from the torrent, they set sail again on the ship Bernacle to find the Sword Of Cortes. A lot of unusual things happen along the way. Jack Sparrow hear a song from somewhere. Only he can clearly hear the song. The song drives his crews crazy. The song was sung by Merfolk. He meets them and comes to a decision and resumes the journey. A story for young children

Sorry. I didn't like it.
Jack was a massive butthole and had no redemption, and no one asked him to fly right. I didn't like the plot much, and I found myself glazing over it a lot.
It's cruel of me to say, but it often feels like Disney throws their screenplays into a randomizer then hires someone to turn it into a book like a puzzle. I'd rather read books the author liked making.

Fun story about a young Jack Sparrow. If you love Pirates and Jack, then this is a fun read about the start of the story of how Jack became Jack. I like how they’re separate but continue the story well and connected

Neat. Not as much happens in this, it's mostly Jack recounting to his crew stuff that happened. Mildly confusing because there is a segment that's basically copied and pasted from the previous book, made me think I had the wrong one. Still, the stuff with the merfolk was kinda cool.
