Hearts and Daggers, a trio of mysteries interconnected through its characters engages and entertains the reader. A "Blast From The Past" by Amy Alessio takes place in an antique mall and murder is the entree to the cookbook loving collector that will work to solve it. A wealth of recipes is included. In the second novella, "A Fire Within" by Margot Justes, depicts a struggling relationship and a murderer bent on revenge. Whether either gets resolved is what holds the reader's interest. "Framed", the third novella by Mary V. Welk, finds Caroline Rhodes receiving an inheritance that leads to a murder mystery and a handsome stranger. Humor and curiosity are liberally sprinkled throughout and it draws the reader into wanting to accompany Caroline Rhodes on her quest to get to the crux of this mystery.

Although each story includes one or more characters from other stories, these three novellas are each enjoyable stand-alone mysteries.
