Patrice Wilton knew from the age of twelve that she wanted to write books that would take the reader to faraway places. As a voracious reader, she gobbled up books, and her imagination soared. She was born in Vancouver, Canada, and had a great need to see the world that she had read about. Patrice became a flight attendant for seventeen years and traveled the world. At the age of forty she sat down to write her first book—in longhand! Her interests include tennis, golf, and writing stories for women of all ages. She is the proud mother of two, has three lovely grand-daughters, and a wonderful man at her side. They live in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he teaches her golf, and she teaches him patience.
Christine starts a dating service called "Merry Matchmakers," and unknowingly uses Derek's photo to advertize the business. Derek learns about this and is not amused. The confrontation and negotiations between the two lead to chemistry and the rest is history. Though the story is predictable, it was a lot of fun to read and the realistic romance between two mature adults elevated the story for me. I also enjoyed the supporting characters of grandmas. If you love romance, you will enjoy this story.
Too many side tangents that added nothing to the story. The character Christine made me want to smack her for her indecisiveness. Most of the women characterized in this story act ridiculous and I find their actions insulting as a woman.
Oh god. I got this forever ago free for the Kindle. So, it was gym reading. I loathed it. I hated the two main characters. Derek was slightly better than Christine, but her flip flopping around about what she wanted drove me nuts. And the bit about the mom added nothing at all to the story and could have been told with some short phone convos with her rather than giving her her own POV. Blech.
