While not exactly a sequel to The Word Reclaimed and The Word Unleashed, Broken Sight by: Steve Rzasa is what happens next.

At the end of The Word Unleashed Religious freedom was restored to the Realm. The aftermath is at first glorious with every proving they can get along. Now two years down the road, everyone is either getting offended or trying not to offend others. Sound familiar? To top it off, Kesek the religion regulating police are trying to make a come back.

Broken sight is short compared to it's epic length brothers, but it is no less meaningful.

This is the story of Brian Gaudette, a Rescue ops captain and a Christian trying to learn what it means to follow Christ in this brave new era.

Though Baden is name dropped frequently, he is not in this novel. Only a three of the original cast return for this one off and two of them are second stringers. Still I appreciate them more now that they are out of Baden's shadow.

Anyone who loved the first two books in the Face of the deep will quickly devour this short addition as an appetizer to the new, The Word Endangered.

Interesting story, fun characters. My only complaint is that the main character's character development was a little lacking. His interaction with certain other characters was not consistent or logical. Other than that, though, the book was an entertaining read.
