English: Jacob Bech Nygaard (1911-1988) was a Danish social realistic author. Today he's most fondly remembered for the novel God's blind eye, but in his lifetime he was one of the most popular writers in Denmark. A 1976 interview states that more than 75,000 copies of his books are available at the Danish libraries.
The text within this book was overwhelming. For a children's book, there was more text than there were pictures. The pictures were very plain and in my opinion did not capture most of the important events in the story. I feel that this book would immediately catch the attention of kids with the title, but the text within and the pictures would certainly lose them. It would be a challenge to continuously read paragraphs in front of little kids with this read.
This was a great book about a mouse that eats a piece of magic cheese then is chosen to go around the world teaching life lessons to whoever, or whatever he meets. Great characters and pictures. More words than pictures, however, so for some of you, you may need to read it when your 21 and older.
