Lackluster start, followed by a sugar overload. Belle calmed things down quite nicely, and I thought that was the story that would get the top spot. Snow, however, is my absolute favorite of the lot! Goldie offered a nice summation.

Cindi: Nice story and I like that the hero is not the "prince" and the story was smooth and easy as the others 3/5
Red:LOVED it .. the concept is nice and I like the progression of the story, I loved this story the most and it made laugh a lot 4.5/5
Belle:Nice and cute .. so far I like this collection they have a nice tone 4/5
Snow:I don'y think I'm on board with a guy with seven children no matter how hot he is .. but the story was nice 3/5
Goldie:nice story .. I liked how they each taught each other something .. 3/5

MC is shallow as all get out and I understand that she has “knockoffs” and not the real things, but counterfeit ANYthing is horrible. And not because it keeps real businesses from making obscene amounts of money. But because the money that’s made from it goes to illicit things, such as human trafficking and terrorism. 1, I couldn’t make it past 3%, stars.

I will start by saying that occasionally I like to read short fiction, just for a change of pace, but I don't prefer it. As such, I'm probably not the target audience for these.
These stories were just okay. I bought it because I'm a sucker for fairy tale retellings, but I was disappointed in the result here. Some of the stories felt forced into the confines of their inspiration tales. My favorites, by far, were Belle and Snow, and I enjoyed those a great deal. I didn't care at all for Cindi or Red, and Goldie was just okay. The five together averaged out to the 3-star rating.

Back and forth between a 2.5 and a 3 for this one. Most of the stories are okay. I didn't like the Snow White take off because it did have sterotypes.
However, I felt the intereweaving of the stories was a nice touch, and in the terms of Beauty and Red the use of the fairy tales interesting.
The writing is pretty good in terms of structure and style.

All five of the short stories were pure fun! Lisa Scott's re-telling of familiar fairytales was fresh and ended much too soon. I'll be heading back to these stories when I need a pick-me-up. :-)

Similar to the originals but so much different and better
I enjoyed reading this book the short stories were Related to the original stories but On the adult version. They were fairly close to the originals like variants of names. This author has a good way to twist the original and make it interesting and funny at the same time.

My Thoughts
Cinderella or Cindi, Red Riding Hood or Red, Beauty and The Beast or Belle, Snow White or Snow and Goldilocks and The Three Bears or Goldie just made me smile and laugh and sigh with utter delight as I read each story. The author took tried and true tales and created something so nicely easy to read and truly sweetly delicious that you will not put this one down until you are done!
I loved the romances of each of the main characters, loved the fact that all the stories connected, most of all loved the simplicity that gave each of the novellas it's own unique spin and in doing so totally revamped these characters with modern twists that made each one cleverly realistic.
Hope to read more from the author because her imagination is really up to the task of entertaining easily and well!

There are five short stories in this book, and I want to review each of them. They are absolutely wonderful, sweet, and fun and all of them are contemporary stories based on a fairy tale story, but of course with a twist.
Cindi
This is a clever remake of the Cinderella story. It is fun, romantic, clever and I loved reading it. The handsome prince in the story is a Marketing executive who lives in a majestic hotel, not a palace. Cindi lives with a stepmother and three stepsisters who are always mean to her. The story is similar but yet different from the original fairy tale with conflict and many ups and downs and kept me avidly reading to the Happy Ever After.
Red
Her real name is Rose, but her hair is red, so she is called by both names. This Rose, runs a bakery which only makes vegan, gluten free, casein free, and multi-grain breads, muffins and buns.
The conflict is based on many misunderstandings, and the author incorporates twists and turns as she tries to keep her bakery from bankruptcy. She ends with a lot of help from a Mr. Wolf. How she ends up making a success of her bakery and finds love makes this another HEA.
Belle
Belle moves into the penthouse part of the majestic hotel to do some finishing work in the library of the prince who lives there. Her father started the work, but became ill, and was unable to finish it. Since she had been helping him all her life, she was more than able to do the work.
The prince does not allow anyone to see him, as he was disfigured and his face was now scarred. Of course she does eventually meet the prince, and gradually they fall in love. Another sweet story I loved to read.
Snow
This clever twist on Snow White is different in that there are seven children involved, not seven dwarves. Her wicked stepmother got her a nanny job so that she, herself could spend more time with the widowed father. Of course, it didn’t work out that way, so she tried other ways to get rid of Shawna. I loved reading how this worked out. The kids were fun, and the father wonderful. Another HEA of course. This is, after all, a fairy tale and a romance!
Goldie
Of course by this time, you have probably realized that this story is based on Goldilocks. This Goldie is supposed to be watching a little dog, and decides to stay for a couple of nights. The owner is not due back for a week.
Then the owner returns, along with his parents, and he insists that she pretend to be his girlfriend for them, as they are always trying to get him married off. This leads to fun and misadventure, and of course a HEA for her and for him.
This collection of short stories is delightful and different than the usual ones I usually read. They are all delightful and fun and I loved them all. I was hooked at the start and read this through in one sitting, ending with a sigh and a happy heart. I recommend them to any romantic with loves a fairy tale.
I give this 5/5 Flowers and can't wait to dig into the other Flirts!.

I have been waiting to read this book for FOREVER and I finally got around to it!! Fairy Tale Flirts! has 5 different short stories by Lisa Scott into one book; each short story can be bought separately, but I think it's a better deal if you buy this collection. Each story is just like the fairy tale that we've all grew up with, but it has a modern and realistic twist to them. For example Cindi (based on Cinderella) wants to go to a Jiminy Shoe trunk show as opposed to a ball. In "Red", Rose meets up with Mr. Wolff, who she believes is up to no good. Belle takes over her father's carpentry job at the Prince's home; he hides himself from the world because of his "beast" like features. In "Snow", she becomes the nanny to Jeremy's seven children. Last but certainly not least, Goldie takes on the job as a fill in pet-sitter, but not to Blake Behr's knowledge. All five stories were very cute and I absolutely loved how one character in the story led to the next story. For example, in "Cindi" Kate Robinson (Red's grandmother) is Hildy's (Cindi's stepmother) next door neighbor. I thought that aspect of the book was really cute. If you read this book, I would suggest reading it in the order that it's in, that way you can catch on to little things that are thrown in there from the previous stories. Also, "Goldie" is sort of like an epilogue to the previous characters in the book; basically it's a story within a story when all the girls meet up at an event. I would definitely recommend this book to people.

A very cute collection of short stories. I love how its modern people having their own fairy-tales come true. I also love how each story still contains the ideas of the fairy tale. For example Cindi's story revolves around shoes which in Cinderella it was a shoe that changed her life. Red's was my favorite because it was a bit different than I expected. The story still revolved around the idea of Red taking goods to her grandmother but there was no wolf that ate her but there was a handsome "huntsman" that she happens to fall for after he and her grandmother play a cruel joke on her. It really made me laugh. Belle's was interesting. It had the theme of "skin deep" meaning that Belle didn't care what the Prince looked liked. All she wanted was to get to know him. "Snow" was so cute because the seven men in Snow White are dwarves but in this one its seven children and kids are just naturally cute. Goldie's story had the theme of "not everything is just right." I mean in the beginning Goldie tries out all the rooms, beds, chairs, and coffee in Blake's house before finding the perfect one but the theme is bigger and involves the whole story by what is "just right" in her life and she can't determine what that is until the end. Cute and clever these five tales are. They inspire me and will inspire others to find their fairy tale dreams come true. I recommend this one for every girl out there still looking for a good fairy tale so they have something to relate to.

Some retellings stayed more true to the original fairy tale, others incorporated themes of the original fairy tale in a different way. They are all original which you are always guaranteed to get when reading a Lisa Scott story. My less than 5 stars ratings are due to little issues I had with the stories. I still very much enjoyed them though.
I recommend Fairy Tale Flirts for lovers of fairy tale retellings. They are quick, lighthearted reads that are perfect to squeeze in when you have some free time or are in a reading slump. If you don't usually like shorts, but love fairy tale retellings I recommend sampling Lisa's writing first then decide. Her stories have a chick lit vibe and are more romance focused. They make you laugh, smile, tear up, swoon and crave for more.
** Each novella can be read and purchased as a standalone but I personally love reading all 5 novellas one after the other because the characters and stories are interconnected. **

This is my first time reading anything by Lisa Scott but I must say I was really pleased by this compilation of short stories. I liked that the elements of the fairy tales were there but they weren't exactly the same stories. Instead it felt like I was reading something different, which I thought was really entertaining. Another point of interest was that despite the separate stories they all kind of combine and come together in a nice way through the interaction of the various title characters. Overall I really enjoyed reading this compilation because it was such a quick read and it was also really interesting and fun to see how these short stories parallel the original fairy tales.

I bought this on a whim when it was on sale. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lisa Scott has filled these tales with lots of whit and humor and moments you just go awww or even just start tearing up.
If you even asked me to pick out a favorite story from one of the five. I doubt I could!
as a great person once said (i can't remember who) "Picking a favorite book is like picking the limbs you'd most like not to loose."
If you try this book and not like it, your loss. I loved it and mainly because I'm a sucker for love stories. I can't help it!
But if you love your classic fairy tales (or any fairy tales) Then this is a must for your shelf.

This was a SUPER FUN set of short stories! Very-contemporary loosely based versions of Cinderella, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. They were funny, romantic and weaved together so that all of the characters lived in the same area and associated with each other in different ways.
I love fairy tales anyway, but this was just so sweet and cute and well written. A complete guilty pleasure! LOVED IT!! Can't imagine that any girl - at any age - would not love these tales! Highly recommend to girl-kind everywhere!

Another nice Flirts! anthology.
Each story is a modern-day version of a fairy tale. I rated them all individually (to save confusion) so I won't be doing a break down on here. Each story is unique in its own way yet the similarities between the modern version and the fairy tales are pretty obvious. I love how everything (and everyone) always comes together at the end in these anthologies.

I didn't like this as much as the first Flirts short story collection, but it was still worth reading. I love how the author weaves the individual stories together, though at times it got pretty confusing, especially with two different people with the last name Midas. Still, the stories were cute and I'll be picking up the other collections this author's produced!

Gosh. I loved this one.
5 short stories taking a modern view of classic fairytales.
They have all I ask for in a no-brainer: comedy, romance, happy endings and, obviously, very likable protagonists.
Recommended to anyone looking for a few laughs, no angst and lots of (charming) princes...

I always had a weakness for fairy tales and I am so glad I came across this one..... Ms Scott delivers another set of amazing short stories that just leaves you hanging and happy at the same time after the end of each novella .

I've loved every story I've read by Lisa Scott but these Fairytale Flirts were especially fun! I really liked how she tied all of the stories to famous tales and her little touches were terrific! I really, really enjoyed this collection.

Very cute. 5 short stories that are modern fairy tale retellings. Nice, classic romance stories. No sex scenes, but did not miss them.

If ur wanting a quick read with no real sexual tension or erotic scenes then this is the book for u. i would describe it as "cute".

Very good read with a cute modern spin on 5 fairy tales. Read this if you need quick pick me up as several times the stories had me smiling and laughing.
