Popular phys-ed teacher Toshimitsu Sugaya has been given the assignment of keeping an eye on a gang of thugs in the school, particularly their leader Tatsumi Yoshino, the “Devil of Nami High.” However, he soon finds out that not only is Yoshino a decent guy, but he’s been idolizing Sugaya for over a year! It doesn’t take long for Yoshino to win over the reluctant teacher and the two start a secret love affair. Can a teacher/student relationship really work and how long can these two hide their secret?
Isaku Natsume (native name: 夏目イサク) is a Japanese author of Boys' Love manga. Aside from the manga published with publishing companies, she also runs two Dōjin circles: 139 and Chekera. List of all her works (detailed) : http://infbot.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/...
This was adorable. Manga like this are my favorite. The storyline was cute and hilarious! Honestly I laughed so much. I enjoyed how the romance didn't happen straight away and actually took most of the book to develop. I'll defiantly be checking out this author again. :D
yea.. really not a big fan of the teacher-student relationship. if it were to be a university student, it wouldn't have bugged me that much, but yoshino is in hs..
At this point I'm going through all of this mangaka's work. I like the way she(?) makes the pairings. They both tend to want to protect each other. It's nice.
I really liked this one. I kind of feel like I shouldn't because it's about a teacher and his student falling in love... I can't remember feeling like this when I read other stories were this happens. That's maybe because some other stories I've read never seemed to take it as seriously as this story did (or I simply can't remember them now off the top of my head) so you could (maybe) easily forget the questionability of the situation because those other stories focused more on the sex part and not on the problem such a relationship brings along. It's not to say that this story is super serious about it but I think the author handles the situation better than others did.
This is a pretty cute, teacher/student romance. Yoshino is adorable and gets misunderstood by those around him, especially his teachers. He gets into fights and is looked at as a delinquent. If a student/teacher high school romance isn't your thing, this one is not for you. I just love this Mangaka's work!
I like the pace of this manga because it allows the reader to really get to know the characters and there's no rush. If you're looking for something slow paced and has great character development this is your manga.
I'm not a big fan of teacher-student relationships because in real life that is an absolute nono! But fiction is fiction, where one can enjoy such guilty pleasures ;) There are some manga where it feels sweet and natural and wholesome and this is one of them. A great story.
Nice, sweet and cute. I love that sublime let's you buy the manga and own the pdf forever so rare these days. I am also a big Natsume Isaku fan, I have the most yaoi manga volumes from her. This one is one of my favourites.
Cute! It's a pretty formulaic plot, but was still cute. I found Honey Smile (the sequel) first and enjoyed it immensely, so I've been waiting for Devil's Honey to become more readily available.
Toshimitsu Sugaya is a handsome and much liked Phys-Ed teacher and Guidance Counsellor who has just been assigned a new task: to keep an eye on a supposedly notorious gang of high-school punks and especially their leader, Tatsumi Yoshino, dubbed “The Devil of Nami High”. Expecting a tough road ahead, Sugaya Sensei is quite startled to find that while prone to a bit of violence, Yoshino is essentially a decent guy who has a warm history with Sugaya that the latter has forgotten about. As teacher and student get closer, sparks fly, and decorum wars with genuine affection.
Ugh….this was downright precious.
I usually steer away from teacher-student romances because of the eepy-cray factor and would have probably given Devil’s Honey a miss too. But the book is so much more than just a forbidden romance. Twisted school politics, Sugaya’s essentially good heart and upstanding need for justice, Yoshino’s vulnerability hiding behind a troubled home life and his beautiful smile, the crackling chemistry between the two and even Seto, Yoshini’s large, looming, silent but staunch friend who sheds wisdom and maturity on the rare moments that he opens his mouth all come together to deliver a BL manga that is sensitive, funny, spicy and rather addictive. Should Devil’s Honey ever be converted into a BL Drama, I would binge the hell out of it and root just as ardently for the flesh and blood characters as I did for their manga origins.
Also….Sugaya Sensei is insanely hot with his *decent human with a naughty mind and killer bod* vibe.
Oh god!! i loved this manga so much!!!!!!!! The graphic is beautiful as always and the main chars were awesome. So sweet and cute and i loved all. Yoshino (the devil of Nami High) is a student and is a delinquent, he has is little group of followers and likes to mess around, but is not a bad guy, and the only things he does is protect his younger brother and his mom. Sugaya sensei, is a Physical E. teacher and falls in love with that little devil. He doesnt know that the "devil" is in love with him too, since almost an year, when Sugaya had stopped Yoshino, who was bulling another boy. There was actually a plot and i loved the uke being so smart and not the useless, feminine character we find in most mangas. Yoshino is almost the same height as his lover, is smart, is good at fights, sweet, says what he thinks and does what he wants and is a virgin (he also didnt have sex with a woman). Sugaya is, sweet, good at fights and one of the best seme i have ever seen, and isnt gay (at least till he meets Yoshino). I wanted moreeeeeeeeeeeee..... I wanted to read about what happens some years after, and see an older Yoshino *_* *sigh* i will imagine that and hope the mangaka decides to make a sequel ;D

This is a true volume, you get five chapters and an afterword, super cute story and totally worth the cost! I'm heading over right after this to buy the story of Yoshino's brother "Ginger Honey", I really hope we get more books in this 'series', I'd love to see a story starring Seno! Thank you to the author and SuBLime for bringing us this awesomely adorable manga and for such a great price!
Another great book by Isaku Natsume I have everything he has written from tight rope to no color and dash. I love them all and I highly recommend this book.
To be honest, four stars seems a little too much for this series, but three stars seems too little, and I really like Natsume's style, so four stars it is. Great light BL entertainment.
