In Book 13 of the hospital series, Candace Crenshaw and her fiance work to present a united parenting front to her children while trying to deal lovingly with friends whose child-rearing philosophy seems quite a bit less structured. Candace also offers support and counsel to a couple who are stunned to learn they are going to have a Down Syndrome baby as she tries to help them see what a special blessing they have in store.
Candace is getting married and realizing that her mother will be moving out.Her mother has also decided to start dating. Elena is planning a surprise birthday party for her husband, Cesar and is worried about his health since he has started exercising and watching what he eats. James is back at work and having trouble with his oldest boy who has his first serious girlfriend and isn’t doing well at school. The hospital is trying to win an award for the most helpful hospital and someone has shown they did way more than they did.
This book had some very obvious medical flaws, which frustrated me. There were also a couple of eye-rolling moments as well. However, I loved some of the action in this book and I also enjoyed the theme of life being of value.
Good book in the series. Candace is beginning to realize that her upcoming marriage will means changes--not all that she is happy with. Elena is planning a surprise party for her husband's 50th birthday and worrying about some signs of his aging. The hospital is nominated for an award.
