It all started in first grade when Cat Johnson won the essay contest at Hawthorne Elementary School and got to ride in the Chief of Police's car in the Memorial Day Parade...and the rest, as they say, is history. As an adult, Cat generally tries to stay out of police cars and is thrilled to be writing for a living. She has been published under a different name in the Young Adult genre, but released her first romance in 2006.
Today, she is a NY Times & USA Today best-selling, award-winning author of contemporary romance. A promo ho, she's sponsored real live bull riding cowboys and promoted romance using bologna.
This was a short read. I thought their start (in 5th grade) was very cute! Great how the two guys could manage to come closer together from it. I really didn't know about Melody. I really didn't like her until about half way through the book and even then I am still a little up in the air about her. The guys were great and compliment each other well. I felt that there need to be more at the end as it was left pretty open. Maybe adding a sequel???
And now (12/4/12) I just read this article on Yahoo News about a 6th grade love letter being on display at their wedding and totally thought about this book. Except the characters are Cathy, Brad, and Trevor. Here is the link to the article: http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/...
Love a good menage book and Cat Johnson did awesome with this one
In fifth grade, Melody caused Justice and Dakota who were best friends to fight. When they realized that was her intent, they promised never to let a girl come between them ever again. Then she moved away a d they never saw her again until she shows up in the bar twelve years later. Is she going to cause the same kinds of problems between the two guys or will they decide to all be together? But what will happen when she doesn't get the job she came back to town for? Does she leave at the end of the week or will she stay? Will they continue their menage or will she decide to only be with one of them?
A steamy MFM menage, where childhood sweeties meet up again a decade later. Sparks definitely fly, as two best friends decide to try something new and share the girl!
Loved the book. Very HOT!!! The truck, caving shed and motel room where so HOT!!! Story could have been longer? But a good fast read. Can't wait to read about Blue and Miss Casey.
At first I was thinking, "How old are these guys?" Well, really it was only Dakota who seemed a bit immature. Justus seemed to be either naive or willing to let bygones be bygones. I thought it was kinda funny that Melody somehow knew Dakota was bluffing on the threesome thing, though she wasn't going to be the one to back down. And once she got a taste for it, there was no stopping her.
I thought it was very sweet that Dakota ended up being her savior in a way. And that Justus made sure that Dakota knew this was a threesome, not just a couple with a third wheel. Very sweet.
Melody, Dakota and Justus have a long history. Going all the way back to fifth grade. Dakota doesn't trust Melody, with good reason. 12 years later, they're hooking up.
Dakota and Justus both love Melody. They've always been in love with her.
Melody comes back to town looking for a job. She runs into Justus and Dakota. They get together. What will happen next?
This was a pretty good short story. It did deal with some of the problems with being in an untraditional relationship. It was definitely HOT!
This story isn't a menage romance so much as an excuse for two deeply closeted gay cowboys (emphasis on the boy avoid admitting they're gay by putting both their dicks in a woman. Justus, at least, thinks he's in love with Melody. OTOH, Melody holds absolutely no value to Dakota other than sex.
If there is ever a sequel written, I hope it's about Melody realizing the men are in love with each other, leaving them, and finding someone who will love her.
Justus and Dakota have been best friends since 5th grade when their mutual crush tried to turn them against each other, years later and their closer than ever and Melody is back in town, with a few truths these two cowboys find hard to believe....quick paced and enjoyable...onto the next
