I fairly enjoyed the book Life of Pi. I liked the detail the author used to describe the main character's, Piscine Patel or Pi, circumstances he finds himself in.
My favorite part of the book is when the ship taking Pi and his family to Canada, the Tsimtsum, had just sunk and it's just Pi, Richard Parker the tiger, the hyena, and the zebra on the lifeboat. The tension the author was able to make made this part very memorable to me. The author leaves the reader guessing on who would attack first, who or what would be eaten first, did Pi’s family survive, among other questions.
I also enjoyed the ending. When Tomohiro Okamoto and his assistant Atsuro Chiba from the Japanese Ministry of Transport came to question Pi about the sinking of the Tsimtsum. I liked how the author told the reader what they were both thinking when interviewing Pi.
