As per the first 2 stories, the plot was well developed. The main characters are believable, realistic and easy to identify with. Clever how the 1st scene is actually middle of the story. The every other chapter one being a flashback to fill in the earlier part of the storyline was masterful. This whole story was slightly different for me. It triggered me; as I have family in law enforcement. I had a niece almost abducted in California while going to her car to go to work. By the middle of the book, I was reading only a chapter a day. Definitely great story and well worth working my way through.
I liked the first one, even though the murder is beyond gruesome, and more graphic than necessary. I like Mr. York's writing, like his twists, love his characters and their interaction. Read the second entry because I cared about the characters and wanted to see what would develop between Reggie and Logan. The third one? Nope. Tried. Couldn't do it. Too much graphic gore. IMO Logan spun off into the dark, torture or no torture. Managed to finish it by skipping pages at a time. Sorry, Mr. York, you are a great writer but I sure wouldn't want to live next door to you.
I truly love Logan Copper and his partner Reggie. I have loved the series this far but this book, whoa this book. Man it had me stressed out in the best way. Worried about characters, worried about the next twist or turn, wondering when it all went wrong and when it would be right again, all the emotions and then some. I don't want to give anything away but let me just tell you that this is one heck of a wild ride and I am so glad I was part of it. I can't wait to see what comes next!
Elliot has done it again! What a great 3rd installment of the Logan Cooper series. This one took a different turn than the first two, and was also less about the 'whodunnit' and more about the 'where are the bad guys'.
This book takes Coop and Reggie undercover to find the home base of a prominent gang who has been offing cops. It goes back and forth between past and present, a different feel than her other books. I was kept engaged and did not want to put this down!
Wow!!! Wow and Wow!!! I can't say enough about how good this series is!!! I literally can't get enough of Coop and Reggie!!! This one had me on the edge of my seat and I could not turn the pages fast enough!!! Elliot York is full of twists and surprises and literally nailed it!!!! This one was different, but oh so good in so many ways!! I can't wait for more!!!!!!
Great story. Ha ing said that: positively dislike the format of present and past switches in chapters. Especially since it only hid the outcome of one person to intensify the angst of Logan. It also messed up when two chapters were consecutive in the present and was the first time it didn't switch back. Otherwise a great story.
I liked all three of the books in the Logan Cooper series. I enjoyed the interaction between the two main characters, and the stories were never slow or boring. Hopefully, they’ll be more in this series.
Was some of the story hard to believe. Yes. Yet it made sense. Off the grid group of home grown terrorists fighting for there own cause. To show supremacy in their way of thinking and attacking what they believed to be a wrong. Sound familiar!
Double Edged by Elliot York. (Detective Logan Cooper #3)
This is book 3 in the series and once again a very interesting read. I am not a fan of the story going backward and forward in time lines, but in this case it created the necessary drama and tension for the story line.
This is absolutely the best book I have ever read! Logan Cooper and Reggie Hawkins make a great team! It got me at the prologue and kept me mesmerized until the last sentence! There is a deadly motor cycle gang, FBI agents, several dead police officers, a dirty dive bar, two women living off the grid and so much more! I was sad it ended, can’t wait for the next Logan Cooper mystery!
