Book 2 is fast-paced, action-filled, monster hunting fun. Although I do wish the story focused more on werewolves, the seven demons make for a compelling read. Again, a few typos and grammar errors, but it was a 99c download, so those issues are easily overlooked. The characters are beginning to develop a bond through their collective traumas.
Dr Dupre makes a rather stunning entry in this chapter, but then that story line is never revisited. Maybe in Book 3 we’ll see more of her?
I anticipate the black goo will be featured in the next volume as well.
Surely Newark is running low on empty factories and warehouses by now….

I listened to the 1st book as an audio and enjoyed it so much I had to read the 2nd. As a fan of stories which include vampires, demons, werewolves and the like, this series delivers. I found the beginning of this book a bit slow, but then it took off at such a pace I found it hard to put down. Twists and turns with characters I enjoyed. Even some laughs out loud. Now I’ve gotten the 3rd book in this series and look forward to the continuation.

I loved it.

This series reminds me of every good horro book I read in the 80s. It's got demons, vampires, werewolves, and heroes that won't quit. It's uncomplicated, and there is no romanticizing the monsters.

I received this book from Good Reads and was pleasantly surprised with the contents of this book. I found it well written, funny, sharp, and right on the money. It held my attention throughout the novel. Tnis book is part of a trilogy. This book is part 2.

The firt Book was Ancient Awakening. It introduced us to the 7 Fallen. Ancient Demons with a taste for human flesh reborn in Newark,N.J. no less. We also have a demon hunter named Joseph Miller, and Ann and Mike in Book 1.

In Book 2 the story continues

Ann has now turned into a Demon Queen. We have her friend Lizzie possible an agorophobic, a werewolf Catherine, and lots more loonies. Thats only the beginning of the fun. The book is really a great witty monster novel.

Normally in a series, one is disappointed in endings leading into the next book. Fear not, this ending is quite satisfactory. Once can look forward to the concluding chapter in this novel.

The sequel to Ancient Awakening. More monster fighting, the transformation of a human into a demon while maintaining her own personality, and further uncovering of motives continue the story. Again a fun and fast read. I'll be looking for the third in the trilogy when it comes out.

I liked this book just as much as the first. A very good continuation of the first. It has me eager to read the final book when it finally comes out. The narrator used, B.J. Harrison, for the audio book does a very good job with the various voices while bringing the story to life.

I really liked it, and I'm really looking forward to starting the third book. The book keeps things active and interesting, even if the dialogue is a little corny at times. The ending in particular had a couple of surprises and sets the scene very well for the next book.

Another quick read but I'm starting to feel like I'm getting strung along by Joseph Miller. I hope the third book is released soon so that maybe I can get some closure...Do you hear me Mathew?

Even with the second rate editing, I liked this book. The author's personality and sense of humor come through in the writing. It has interesting characters with a touch of mystery.
